Nicole Greenfield is a writer based in New York City and a contributor to the Patheos Public Square. She has an M.A. in Religious Studies, with a journalism focus, from New York University and a B.A. in Religion from Dickinson College. Her particular interests include religion and media, fundamentalisms, gender, politics, and religion in popular culture.

Nicole has written for publications such as Killing the Buddha, Guilt and Pleasure, The Brooklyn Rail, and The Revealer, where she is managing editor. She's also a contributing author to Religion in America: A Comprehensive Guide to Faith, History, and Tradition (November 2009). As an editorial assistant and project coordinator for the Social Science Research Council's Religion and the Public Sphere program, Nicole contributes to the program's blog, The Immanent Frame, and is helping develop a guide to online religion resources. She also writes about environmental issues.
