Palm Sunday
The idea that the universe is a part (though not the whole) of a god's being; this represents a middle way between classical theism (god is apart from the universe) and pantheism (the universe as a whole is god)
Idea that the universe as a whole is god; rationalist freethinker John Toland coined the adjective "pantheist" in 1705.
Passion Sunday
disc of copper or wood representing the earth, engraved with Wicca (witchcraft) symbols
five-pointed star, mystical symbol used for millennia to represent humanity
Pentecost
In Arabic “Ahl al-kitab;” name given frequently in the Quran to Jews and Christians, to distinguish them from heathens who had no scriptures
Pesach
Passover; one of three major pilgrimage festivals in Judaism, and held in the spring; commemoration of the Exodus of the Israelites from Egypt.
Pioneer Day
Persian word for elder or teacher; used for a murshid or spiritual director
Po
"devastation" (Russian), mob violence against persons and property of a national, racial, or religious minority
Belief in many gods (as opposed to monotheism, belief in one god); the many gods may be subordinate to the highest god (as in Hinduism), or subordinate to a higher state (as in Buddhism)
Posadas Navidenas
"To sit inclined toward someone," referring to the grace of a god in Hinduism; in common ISKCON usage, prasadam is the food or flowers offered to a god and then distributed to worshipers.
