I've been asked for a list of the "Top 5" posts here at slacktivist. That seems like something the readers should decide. But to keep this from being an awkwardly self-serving solicitation of praise, please also offer your suggestions for the worst 5 posts here. Thanks.
Patheos is celebrating its five year anniversary, and as part of that I’ve been asked to post a video discussing my favourite moment since being on Patheos, and to post some of the highlights of my blog here on Patheos. As I explain in the video, to call it a “favourite” moment is really inaccurate [Read More...]
Patheos@5: From Mainline to Progressive to…? Celebrating the Evolving Christian Journey #Patheos5yrs
Exciting news, friends! We’ve graduated to kindergarten! That’s right … Patheos, the little religion-site-that-could, is turning five this month! And I couldn’t be a prouder Mama. I remember the day we launched the first beta site, a few of us huddled around a computer monitor, anxiously watching to see if anyone would come. We were [Read More...]

Happy Birthday #Patheos5Yrs – Reflecting on Five Great Years and My Favorite Posts from Patheos Muslim!
I know many Muslims are on the fence regarding celebrating birthdays or not — you know, whether it is a bid’ah (innovation on religion) or not. But I have to say — Happy Fifth Birthday Patheos! You hear a lot from me about faith, family and autism as the author of the “Muslimah Next Door” blog — but [Read More...]
Patheos is celebrating its fifth anniversary today (Monday), which has seen an outbreak of nostalgia and warm feelings across the site — and especially from those of us who have been with it from the beginning. I had the great joy of joining the Patheos team well before the site went live in May of [Read More...]
Happy 5th Anniversary, Patheos! To celebrate, here are the top 5 most-read posts on Sermons from the Mound for Christine Kraemer and Yvonne Aburrow (respectively!).
It is a testament to my interfaith activism that my first post was published on Christmas Day in 2010, about yoga’s Hindu roots and the universality of its application.
Where does the time go? Wasn’t it only yesterday that we heard about a new web presence called Patheos? And now Patheos is celebrating five years of delicious religious conversation. I’ve loved sharing Patheos with my friends at Interfaith Partners of S.C. Our Wild Garden Pagan interfaith column has been the icing on this birthday [Read More...]
In the midst of grading, writing & prepping for more summer teaching, a quick saludos to the folks at Patheos, whom I have had the pleasure of helping out since they first started! #Patheos5yo I remember writing much of the material that forms the basis of their “Pentecostalism” section & now as a (semi) regular [Read More...]
Great timing, Patheos, to schedule your fifth anniversary just a few days after Rational Doubt: The Clergy Project Blog started up. We’ve been “live” just 12 days, since April 24th, and already feel like a member of the family. The Patheos team has been nothing but welcoming and helpful as the latest member of the [Read More...]
Let’s take a look back at some highlights of the Cross Examined blog on today’s Patheos anniversary.
By Altmuslim Contributors Hey Patheos! Happy Fifth Birthday! We at Altmuslim want to wish our host site, Patheos, a very happy fifth birthday and pray for growing halal (ha!) success in the years to come. We joined Patheos, specifically the Patheos Muslim Channel, two years back after being an independent site for more than a [Read More...]
Five is a powerful number; there's the five pointed star, of course, and the additional power that is brought to a ritual when you call five elements (earth, air, fire, water, and spirit), not to mention the unique group dynamic that is present among circles of five. So raise a glass (or five) today to the force of this number, and the magic of this birthday. I'm so grateful to be a part of this thriving, vibrant community, and it's a pleasure to say happy anniversary and bon fortuna, Patheos!
Having my blog here has been a great experience. I’m half way through year two and I’m so grateful for the help and support Patheos gives me as well as the opportunity to spread my wings wider and communicate with more people. Not to mention the amazing other bloggers, many of whom are famous in [Read More...]

The first time I was introduced to Patheos was when I met Leo Brunnick, a founder and CEO of Patheos, when he came to present to the Harvard University Chaplains in 2012. I was a Jewish chaplain at the university at the time and was quite impressed with his passion, vision and determination to build [Read More...]
Since I came to Patheos in 2011, this blog has had nearly a million visitors and over 2.6 million pageviews. That’s been awesome!
I am excited that Patheos is turning five. As I’ve written about, on more than one occasion, I think Patheos is one of the best places on the internet for theological discussions and exploration of faith. I have still very honored to be a part of the family here. As bloggers here, we [Read More...]
The problem with choosing a favorite post is they're all my favorite! Actually, all the funny ones are my favorite. Never let it be said that I don't appreciate my own sense of humor. So, for your reading pleasure... Pagan light bulb jokes, the art of forthright speech, Nimue, and a matter of ir/reverence.
The other day I checked my Twitter followers. I did that because Alicia Keys – the pop star, American R&B singer-songwriter — started “following” me. One of my Patheos.com blogs had gone viral and expanded the profile of who was looking in on my Twitter posts. As I scrolled down looking at the pictures of [Read More...]
I've been writing blogs on here for about a year and a half. The discipline of writing 1000-1500 words on most days means I have accumulated about 200,000 words. These I will turn into books. Books make me money to feed my kids. Thay also mean my writing will survive.

Being a writer is primarily about writing—not about following some social media guru's five-step system for getting the most attention for each blog post, or about keywords and SEO.
Today Patheos.com—the website on which you’re reading this blog—is celebrating its fifth anniversary. By way of marking that milestone the good folks at Patheos requested their bloggers do a little video about site. My offering’s below. (Please rest assured that in real life my skin isn’t the color one typically associates with white guys about [Read More...]
Today is the 5th anniversary of the official launch of Patheos. Congratulations! It really is something to celebrate, because it is very difficult to start a website today and have it grow to the size and impact that Patheos has. Here's my story of how Patheos has impacted my life.
Patheos is celebrating its fifth anniversary, which is more like its 35th anniversary in dog years. I don’t recall when I first became aware that Patheos was a thing, but it was probably around the time the Anchoress moved her blog there. I didn’t read the Anchoress much then; she seemed to write mostly about [Read More...]
As a writer, I live ‘in here,’ in my head much of the time. As a faith leader, I live ‘out’ in the world, and up in front of a big community much of the time. ‘In here’ and ‘out there’ are two scary places to be sometimes. This is why I started blogging. It [Read More...]
To be a blogger at Patheos is a thing of Beauty that is full of Grace and Truth. I am deeply grateful to have had this opportunity.
Patheos is five years old, so let's celebrate by looking back at a few horned and horny classics. It's time for the "Best of Raise the Horns," and don't worry, it's a pretty short list.
Happy Birthday, from Tom McDonald and Ruby, the Wonder Chicken!
Sometimes people ask me, “How did you become a blogger for Patheos?” (Patheos whose birthday we are celebrating in this post – Happy 5th Birthday, Patheos!) Allow me to confirm your suspicions by quoting you the letter* I received from our Catholic Channel editor asking me to join on this spring: February, 2014 Dear Jennifer, [Read More...]
I may not agree, indeed I may passionately disagree, with what you say, but I will fight for your right to say it.
Patheos is celebrating it’s fifth birthday this week, and they’ve asked us bloggers to reflect a little on our time here and to share a little list of recommended posts. It so happens, when I was poking back in my archive, that I noticed that my blog is about a month away from it’s four year [Read More...]
My favorite moments, as a writer for Patheos and with readers, are every single moment. I feel like I get the opportunity to explore one of the most challenging, often misunderstood, and complex issues around the intersectionality of ethnic culture and alternative spirituality. Being a Black woman has its own distinct culturally significant challenges, and [Read More...]
I’m very pleased to join many blogging colleagues in wishing our site a very happy birthday: today, Patheos turns 5 years old! This from the website today: Since launching in 2009, Patheos has grown to be the largest independent religion and spirituality website. Many of the site’s faith channels have become the largest online space [Read More...]

Sending you flowers for the big day! Wishing the Patheos team God’s choicest blessings for all the times they’ve left the rest of us so blessed. (wait for it)
Now that “Star Wars Day” is over (May the 4th be with you), it’s time to celebrate another special occasion: namely, Patheos.com’s 5th anniversary! It was a mere three-and-a-half years ago that I started hounding Elizabeth Scalia (a.k.a. The Anchoress) every couple of weeks to see if she wanted to post articles based on my [Read More...]
Patheos is celebrating its 5-year anniversary and I’m happy to be a part of the site.
My new book, Jesus Now, is at a 50% discount with a free Study Guide included until Thursday, May 8th on Parable.com I joined the Patheos team in October 2012. It was an honor to be invited to the Evangelical Channel. I’ve made friends here. I’ve had great conversations with people who agree and disagree. [Read More...]
May 5 — Cinco de Mayo, no less — was Patheos’ 5th birthday. That’s right. Big Number Five. I, for one, am glad that Patheos is here. Because I can write what I want. And think what I think. Patheos rocks! (I mean that.)
I want to start out by saying how grateful I am for the opportunity to blog at Patheos.com. It was just over three years ago when they approached me about such an arrangement. I actually tried to talk them out of it in some ways, as I let them know that I was just having [Read More...]

“The Dance of Pagan Recovery” is a newcomer to the Patheos Pagan Agora blog, only appearing since January of this year. In that short time, I've begun to feel the juju that is available through this venue. It feels good to have a place to discuss the needs of those like me, who may have felt unwelcome in traditional recovery programs.
Congratulations to Patheos on its five-year anniversary! I have written for Patheos for several years, first as a columnist, then as a blogger and coordinator for the Anxious Bench group historians’ blog.
Patheos has been around for five years and all of the bloggers are celebrating this achievement. I wanted to share one of the most famous posts on the blog. FaceofMoe recently posted to Reddit about Tyrion Lannister, a character in the book series A Song of Ice and Fire and HBO’s Game of Thrones. “A [Read More...]
A (fairly) long time ago, in a galaxy … well, not far away, but definitely in another neighborhood that required as least one bus transfer … I used to write about entertainment. I’ll soon be going on my second year of this blog being hosted at Patheos, where we’ve built up our audience considerably and been bringing in some income to pay the bills. Patheos is celebrating its 5th year anniversary and, in conjunction with that, is asking its bloggers to send in links to their 5 [Read More...]
Patheos is 5 years old! We’re also coming up next month on my one year anniversary at Patheos (and just 3 years blogging in all)! I went back and look to see what were the most popular posts here at Allergic Pagan since moving to Patheos. I’ve listed the top 6 in reverse order below. [Read More...]
Well really it was yesterday but boy, has it been a busy week! Yesterday was also the cross quarter day of Beltane (for this who like to observe the exact cross quarter in addition to the traditional festival day of May 1st) so that seems fitting. The cross quarter days fall nicely midway between the [Read More...]
Author’s Note: In honor of Patheos’ 5 Year Anniversary, I wanted to share my most popular post. In all honesty, there is no way I ever conceived that this essay would ever get the traffic it did. But I think I figured it out. It’s about the decent character of Peyton Manning. It’s about the [Read More...]
