Patricia Rose’s small publishing company is dedicated to creating materials that enhance people lives of all ages, but especially children ages nine through eleven. The main subjects her books cover are reiki, synchronicity coincidences, symbology, and metaphysical mysteries for children. Synchronicity Publishing is now working on books that enhance education in a more positive and significant way.
What qualifies someone to write books of this grand a magnitude for delicate children?
Patricia Rose was a teacher at the Boulder Valley School district in Colorado for 24+ years from September 1975 to 2000. She also designed and ran a new program for learning disabled adolescents in a large high school in Boulder, Colorado.
“I loved my job, the school and the people I interacted with on a daily basis. Much of what I learned in those years is the basis of my new book coming out in 2011 Happy Teachers Happy Students – The Power of Intention.”
Patricia Rose then connected with a wonderful professor at San Diego State named Dr. Shirley Forbing who got her into the pilot program with San Diego State and UCLA for the first Master’s program for educating learning disabled students in California.
“Dr. Shirley Forbing’s guidance and wisdom changed my direction in life.” Patricia Rose says.
Teachers have a powerful impact on the students that they interact with on a daily basis. What is the nature of that influence?
Here are 3 questions you should be asking about your child’s teachers.
- Are they teaching students to develop lifelong skills that will help them be healthy, happy, productive adults?
- Are they teaching children how to use their remarkable brains that research now shows are capable of much more than anyone in education imagined?
- Are they teaching students how learning and education can be filled with wonder, curiosity and joy?

Too many classrooms seem to be gearing all of their instructional efforts to helping students master left brain skills since that is what standardized tests measure. As educators maybe we should also be developing story telling abilities, synthesis, empathy, humor and the ability to detect the importance of the information they are assimilating all around them. Possibly teachers are in the business of creating real “lifelong learners.”
Teachers are one of this country’s greatest resources. It is time for teachers to find their own niche in the educational world and be happy and fulfilled in their job. Genius often comes from finding a new perspective.

- teaching art to children in low income programs
- spending time with her family, especially her two beautiful daughters
- walking along LaJolla cove as often as possible
- yoga
- art
- working part time in San Diego School District
- playing with her dogs and cats
