Famous F1 racing driver Lewis Hamilton "Does God"

In the UK many public figures are understandably nervous about speaking about God. Blair was famously cut off by Alistair Campbell “we don’t do God.” It may not seem like much but when Lewis Hamilton said the following in an interview he was risking public mocking: “You have to remain hopeful, you have to believe there is a plan . . . I believe God has a plan for me. I don’t know what it is.”

So, people of any faith should be glad that Hamilton was willing to mention in passing his belief in God. If Lewis is willing to be interviewed by a sympathetic interviewer about what God means to him, I would be only too happy to oblige!

For anyone not so familiar with Formula 1 (I am talking about you, my American readers!) then as an introduction to the history of the sport you can do a lot worse than watching the movie Senna.

Lewis Hamilton is a guy who doesn’t hide his true feelings. The Englishman has mentioned his belief in God many times. If you know Lewis, then you know he’s a religious young man. That’s beautiful!
