Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas December 25, 2014

As I write this it is just past midnight. The breakfast table is laid. The potatoes are pealed. We are just about to lay the presents out around and on the tree. And we wait for the kids to all be soundly asleep so “Father Christmas” can do his rounds.

It is Christmas Day for us.

May Jesus’ presence be close to you this Christmas.

May you have enjoyable rest time with your family.

May you be well fed.

May there be laughter.

But among the happiness spare a thought for those less fortunate than yourself. For those suffering loss, sickness, and pain this Christmas. Imagine how you would feel at the sudden loss of someone who should be with you round the dinner table. And be grateful for the gift of grace that is in every breath.

Let this be a season of gratitude and praise to our Lord, who is the greatest present of all.

I took this picture myself in about ten seconds with my iPhone. I was worried the policemen would tell me to stop! I’ve been using it as my lock screen for a few weeks.
