Personal Review of the Year

It's that time of year again. As I have done in previous years, I thought I would take the opportunity to reflect on the year that was. This post will consider personal matters, family matters, and my church. The year began with my regular tradition of putting the blog onto autopilot to give me time to reflect, pray, and recuperate. I have a tendency to end the year feeling exhausted and drained, and find the discipline of switching off my blog after the holiday period gives me a real lift. This … [Read more...]

John Piper on Ruth in the UK

Piper Friday resumes this week. Today I wanted to draw your attention to the notes and mp3s of a recent trip Dr. Piper took in the UK. He was speaking to students on Ruth, and Dave Bish was there. The life of the godly is not an Interstate through … [Read more...]

Dare to Ask God for Success

Yesterday, at two different times during the day, I was confronted with the idea of God granting success to people. The first time occurred while I was reading the story of David and Jonathan where, in one chapter, the idea is repeated several times. 1 Samuel 18:5 — And David went out and was successful wherever Saul sent him, so that Saul set him over the men of war. And this was good in the sight of all the people and also in the sight of Saul's servants.1 Samuel 18:14 — And David had success i … [Read more...]

This morning I attended the second session of the training track, Prophetic Encounter.
