Authority vs Internet-inspired anarchy

In this third session of Evangelism in a Post-Christian World, the focus turns to using the Internet as a Christian. Without the printing press it is hard to see how the Reformation would have had the impact it did. How can Christians today use Social Media for good? Gospel Confidence: Do you really want your church to grow?

The second in my series of talks on Evangelism in a Post-Chritian World is called: Gospel Confidence: Do you really want your church to grow?. It is my contention that many of us are actually secretly not that keen on our church growing. If this is true, then we are not that keen on people becoming Christians. There is something wrong if that is the case. In this talk I encourage us to renew our passionate conviction for the gospel, and dare to believe that Jesus meant what he said when he … [Read more...]

Become more confident in explaining the Gospel

Today I wanted to share some comments from others about another key purpose we had in writing Hope Reborn. Over the years at Jubilee we have come to realize that the single best evangelistic resource a church has is people who have themselves encountered Jesus and been changed by him. Often such people are enthusiastic in sharing their faith with others, and at a minimum inviting them to church, small group, or perhaps an Alpha Course. Our hope is that even Christians who have been around … [Read more...]

What does it mean to “receive the gift of the Holy Spirit” ?

In chapter 3 of Hope Reborn, we list four steps which are part of the normal process of becoming a Christian and beginning your Christian life.
