Receive an impartation from the Holy Spirit this weekend through Jack Hayford. Watch this trailer for more information.

We actually do have a few more places available for THIS SATURDAY's 300 conference. Coming to us is Jack Hayford who is well known internationally for the level of anointing or "unction" that he has spent decades living in the good of (see my previous post on why we are excited that he is coming). If you intend to come with an open heart, willing to receive from God, and to learn from a seasoned leader, I encourage you to clear your diary and snap up one of the few remaining tickets and come. … [Read more...]

Jack Hayford Video Sermon on Peace and Winsomeness

There is not very many videos of Jack Hayford available for free online. It was a delight therefore to watch this one over the weekend and I really felt that it benefited me. I could hear God speaking to me through his Word. I encourage you to watch the following video and then consider booking in to our next 300 Leaders Conference where he will be speaking. The video is followed by some notes I took when I watched it: Psalm 119:165 Peace is wholeness or completeness. Let God’s … [Read more...]

Why you should listen to Jack Hayford

I am always eager to send you away from here to learn from others. I suppose that is part of the reason that you keep coming back! I am only too well aware that I have nothing that is original with me to say to you that is of any use to you. I suppose I could try and hide my sources, and perhaps look better to you. But that wouldn't really help you. It is high time that we realized that there are some men who God gives to his whole church, and gives them more light which we can all benefit … [Read more...]

Q and A on church leadership with Tope Koleoso and David Pask

I was the interviewer for the above Q and A which took place at the last 300 leaders conference. There were lots of interesting questions based on the two videos I posted last week. I do hope that you will consider joining us for the next event if you are a leader of any level, or aspire to be one. … [Read more...]

Multiculturalism – Can we build churches that display God’s multicolored glory?

The above video comes from the recent 300 leaders Conference. It is on a subject close to my heart: diversity. Many argue that churches will only grow if they focus on attracting one demographic of person. We at Jubilee have given our lives to trying, by God's grace, to prove that statement wrong. It hasn't all been easy, and this video shares some of the lessons we have learned over the years. … [Read more...]

Leadership and the Gospel – Lessons from Jubilee Church

The above video features both David Pask and Tope Koleoso. David provides day-to-day spiritual leadership to Jubilee Church, and Tope is the lead pastor, responsible for vision and preaching. As regular readers will know, I have been part of this church since 1995, and following 10 years of hard work and foundation forming we had around 100 people. Then, God pressed the fast forward button to the extent that at our Easter 2010 service we gathered almost 1000. We have been blessed, and are very … [Read more...]

Tope Koleoso interview and your invitation to the Autumn 300 Conference

This autumn we are running another 300 conference here in Enfield, London. If you have been reading this blog for a while, you will have seen me speak of my love for my home church. I joined Jubilee back in 1995, and for the first 10 years we experienced the challenges of being a slow growing church plant. They were good years, and years when deep friendships were formed within an emerging leadership team. We learnt a lot together, but although we did hold onto promises from God, we would not … [Read more...]

SERMON: What has sustained John Piper for thirty years?

These notes are from the morning session of the 300 conference we recently had with John Piper. I have set them to auto-publish today, as I have been reliably informed that by now the video and audio of both this talk and the excellent Q and A should be available from 300leaders.org pop over and watch it if like me you are getting Piper withdrawal syndrome! I hope you enjoy this talk which was vintage John Piper. He was clearly enjoying himself as he preached one of only a very few messages … [Read more...]

Christian Hedonism and Christian Marriage

The final post in my series interacting with John Piper is again on marriage. Seeking the happiness of yourself in the happiness of your wife is key to a joyful relationship. We look forward to hearing from John tomorrow, and in due time I will share notes and video of the sessions here. May all our marriages be informed by this quote: A husband and wife should pursue their own joy in the joy of each other. There is scarcely a more hedonistic passage in the Bible than Ephesians 5:25–30. This … [Read more...]

Prioritizing your marriage

The single thing that has impressed me most about John Piper is his recent decision to pull back from ministry for a few months, with only a couple of exceptions. This was in order to put his wife first and spend some proper time with her, disengaged from doing ministry for God, a very godly and wise act. Your marriage is your first ministry calling.  God himself should come before everything, but family comes a close second. Do keep remembering the Pipers in your prayers. I have this week been … [Read more...]
