TOAM10 – Guest post from Mrs Warnock on transition

I was chatting with my wife, Andrée today as we were getting the notes from Terry's talk ready to publish. I felt like what she had to say was so insightful that I decided to ask her to share it here. So here is a rare guest blogging appearance from Mrs Warnock: As Terry was speaking today I noticed he mentioned the word 'transition' to describe the stage we are at as a family of churches. I found myself thinking about that word, and how it is used to describe a stage of labor before the baby … [Read more...]

"Mum, I Like God"

So said George to my wife just recently. She asked him, "Why?" and he replied, "Because he loves me!"  Talk about out of the mouths of babes and infants. He will be three in a few days' time. … [Read more...]

Managing The Re-entry

Jet lag, when you travel from the UK to the USA, is not so bad as the other way around, of that I am sure!  On arrival stateside, for a few days you feel almost invincible.  Although a little tired in the evening, you force yourself not to go to bed too early.  Then, around 3 or 4 AM, it's like a switch is pressed in your head. Bing! You are awake.  So, before anyone else is up, you get to do almost a whole extra day's work.  And until the second or third day, a bit of coffee or tea is all you ne … [Read more...]

My Travel Journal – Bethlehem Baptist Church

Usually when I attend a conference, I sit through the sessions typing furiously trying to capture as much of what God is saying to us through his Word as I possibly can. This is not an easy task, but it is one I enjoy. It is something I am sure I will do many times over the next few years, as I have no intention of stopping. However, preaching is not about making the process of transferring information from the speaker's notes to the hearers' notes as efficient as possible. We are meant to … [Read more...]

If You Go Down To The Woods Today

Times like these with the family are precious indeed. The snow and ice made it even more special as we don't get that often in the UK. … [Read more...]

Life Is So Short But So Precious

I want you to take a good long look at your husband or wife today. Right now. Go look at them. Do the same for any children you have. And think of your closest friends too. Then thank God for them. You don't know how long you will have them. They could be gone in an instant.I could have lost my beautiful daughter Charis today. If the chicken bone that stuck in her throat had done so just a bit more aggressively . . . or, if when it finally dislodged, it had gone fully into her windpipe instead … [Read more...]

My Experience of Being Bullied

Filmed for a project done by my daughter for school, I thought I'd share this video of me talking about what it was like to be bullied at school. I thank God that I have come a long way since then and for his healing power. … [Read more...]

A Halloween Alternative

I am so glad that my kids do not have to stay home this evening while others in the neighborhood dress up as ghouls and other things that give me the creeps and knock on strangers doors for sweets. Its surprising really that the American holiday ever really caught on in the UK, and surprising that in an age which fears child abduction and worse that society tells kids to do the very thing it tells them not to the rest of the year! I know some Christians think differently about whether we … [Read more...]

Behind The Scenes At TOAM With My Lovely Wife

Behind The Scenes At TOAM With My Lovely Wife from Adrian Warnock on Vimeo.I thought I would let you have a glimpse of a behind the scenes moment. This year at the Brighton Conference, I had the most good-looking assistant I have ever had helping me. Consider this video something of a tribute to her. It was a real joy having her there with me! … [Read more...]
