On having an area of influence and not comparing yourself with others

I continue to update the "Top 100 list of Christian blogs ranked by Twitter followers" which looks like it will soon be renamed the Top 200!  As well as looking at the list on this site, you can subscribe to it on Twitter, or go through the list there and follow the people that look interesting.  I am still looking for any I have missed, but to get into the Top 100 it now seems you need at least 2,000 followers! But what of you? Were you pleased to be included? Disappointed that I somehow … [Read more...]

Top 200 Christian blogs

This is a list of top Christian blogs and micro-bloggers (who tweet in English) organized by the number of Twitter followers NB You can READ THIS LIST on Twitter or follow those you want to There has been a lot more interest and discussion than usual about the recent release of the Church Relevance Top 200 Christian Blogs list, which I am fortunate to have once again featured in. Some commented on the fact that the methodology of constructing any such list inevitably leads to some … [Read more...]

Top 40 Referring Blogs of 2011 – Thanks for sending traffic this way

As the year begins to draw to an end, one thing I like to do is share a list of the top non-search engine referrers to this blog. This is of course by way of thank you. I do encourage you, if you own a blog, to frequently link to your favorite bloggers and interact with them. And, if you don't have a blog, why not think of starting one? Thank you is deserved by the following sites especially, but also by the many more sites who individually sent fewer, but in collection with others sent more … [Read more...]

Guest post by Lex Loizides

What Readers of Church History are interested in! I’ve found it intriguing to note what posts are becoming more popular on The Church History Blog, as well as the often completely daft (and often highly entertaining) search terms that lead people there. Here are the top 6 posts during the last quarter: John Wesley and his Wife (part 2) John Calvin and Martin Luther – some differences Mary Slessor the 'Mother of all Peoples' John Wesley and his Wife (part 1) The God Delusion Debate John … [Read more...]

Popular posts: 10 Ways a Christian should respond to the earthquake in Japan.

During Adrian's month away from the blog, he has hand-picked a selection of the most popular posts of the year so far to re-run. Today we feature, "10 Ways a Christian should respond to the earthquake in Japan." As the world was reeling from the astonishing news from Japan, this post proved quite popular as it attempted to think through how Christians should respond: 10 Ways a Christian should respond to the earthquake in Japan As Japan braces itself for a possible further serious earthquake, … [Read more...]

Top 60 referrers, and a big thank you to all my readers

At this time of year I always like to thank all those who have sent readers here, and of course the readers themselves. In the past twelve months a staggering 2,090 sites other than search engines sent traffic to this site. I wish I could thank all of you individually. Many of these will have sent just a tiny handful of individual visitors. I know for some of you, you run a small blog with few readers and maybe you think what is the point of linking to an established blogger. Well, the … [Read more...]

Twitter as a mission tool

Interesting and challenging post alert. Do you (like me) connect online mostly with other Christians? Perhaps Twitter can help us change this (and similarly Facebook where just the fact that your non-Christian friends get to see your interactions surely has to be some kind of witness, you better hope its a good one!) I should say, of course, that there is nothing worse than someone connecting with people soley for the sake of inviting them to church. Jesus would want us to be "in" the world, … [Read more...]

Top Twenty Five Videos

This weekend I thought I would share a list of my top Twenty Five videos ordered by total number of views. As you can see, one of my Chandler videos has already jumped in above Mark Driscoll in second place. Terry's fantastic sermon on prayer is way ahead of that one even, however. I enjoyed filming or watching all of these videos. Why not watch one or two you have missed? 1 Elijah Prays For Rain Tue Jun 23, 2009 2 Matt Chandler on being a reformed charismatic without much of a … [Read more...]
