Alone In Her Presence: Turning In to Turn Back Out

I wonder how many of us are in need of turning back in just a little bit? Not depressed, or sad, we are living full and meaningful lives, but we’ve lost connection. In times like this the only thing I know how to do is a hard reset and return to basics. [Read more...]

Alone In Her Presence: An Open Heart and a Naked Soul

Cover of the 20th Anniversary Edition of the Spiral Dance by Starhawk

I have come to know the Goddess as the vessel of our most intimate self. Whether in worship, public ritual, or alone in her presence what the Goddess has provided me is a vessel. Sometimes this is a liminal vessel whereby we are standing on the edge of magic, and other times it is simply holy emptiness. Shallow or deep this vessel is the fertile mantle I build my Spiritual practice upon. It is where I touch suffering, and release it. It is where I set my intentions for the world, and invite transmutation of personal karma [Read more...]

Alone In Her Presence: Heart Leads the Way – The Practice of Loving Kindness

The universe has an odd way of inviting me to question deeper. As I sat down to write today, the tea bag in my cup of tea offered this wisdom, ” Let your heart speak to other’s hearts.” And I thought to myself, what might it look like if Valentine’s Day got a re-fame. Green Tara, The Practice of Releasing Suffering

Green Tara by Erick DuPree

My work with Goddess Tara is truly amazing, because it balances my own suffering and empowers my intuition and empathy. In the devotional chanting, my awareness expands and I can feel the power of the blessings of Tara. I can see her touching the suffering of those whom she has guided me to chant for. I do not always know why, but I always know there is a need. [Read more...]

Alone In Her Presence: Letting Go – The Practice from Hostage to Hopeful

Let Go - image by Erick DuPree

Letting go might be the hardest thing to put into practice. There are many things in our daily life, both material and immaterial, that we attach to. For some of us, it is the expectation to live our lives in accordance to another’s rule book. For others, we are hostages to our own doubt. For me, it was overcoming the years of feeling not good enough and finally knowing worthiness. This attachment to “not good enough” is something that I continue to work through and with. That is the practice, why it is called “doing the work.” [Read more...]

Alone In Her Presence: Just Breathe, The Practice of Permission, Affirmation, & Dedication

prayer hands

The new year is upon us. This is the time of resolutions and promises to self often forgotten by February. But what if the commitment to self was more empowered, and leaned into the invitation of the wholeness that is holy, rather than being an obligation? For me, holiness and the sacred is found in Daily Practice. [Read more...]
