Wayfairing Woman: Soul Searching at Winter Solstice Time

At this time, after the Winter Solstice and moving into the New Year, we have a great opportunity to do some soul searching, using the lantern light of the coming year to illuminate the way. This time needn’t be about making resolutions, but rather synthesizing experiences and making more coherent sense of it all so that our foot falls on solid ground as we step into the new year. Happily Heathen: Frithweaving At Yule – A Heathen ADF Ritual For Frigga And Freyr

This year, I had the chance to celebrate Yule in a bigger way than I’ve ever done in the past. I organized an opportunity for the local pagan community to come together to worship as a family in honor of Yule and the Norse deities Frigga and Freyr. The Busy Witch: New Year, New Intentions

Here in the Northern Hemisphere, we’ve just passed the longest night of the year. The Winter Solstice is, for me, a time of introspection and wishing, and in recent years, I’ve developed a theory about this time of year; I believe that the way you spend the Solstice and the way you ring in the New Year will set the tone for the year to come.
