Easier Said Than Done. Do It Anyhow.

Easier Said Than Done. Do It Anyhow. July 6, 2015

I often put positive quotes on social media that inspire me, hoping it will inspire others as well. Some might be more relevant to some, and less to others. For the most part I receive a positive response, but at least once a month I get a private message that explains why I’m wrong to have posted it followed by – “easier said than done.” It’s something I hear a lot of people spout when they feel frustrated, and it’s often hard to inspire someone when they feel that way.

Years ago I would’ve made it personal. I would’ve tried everything to pick them up, but after collecting energy zapper after energy zapper (you know, those people who want that instant fix but who don’t want to do the work), I realized that wasn’t my purpose. Just as a doctor can’t force the medicine down the throat- you have to take responsibility for that. And the fitness coach can’t lift the weights and you get the results, you have to do the work, happiness is no different. Neither you or me can make someone happy, or make them change their actions or their thoughts. It starts with oneself. Now this doesn’t mean that I gave up on people. It means I’ve created boundaries and send my love and my healing for their journey, but spare them a spiel.

So remember that when that energy zapper around you begins complaining about the same thing over and over (and it could even be you), nothing changes unless something changes. And yes, it may be easier to say than to do, but do it anyhow.

Kristy
