Four Gods: the Dierne

Morning coffee is a favorite offering for the Dierne.

Before we begin covering how to worship the Four Gods, I want to go in-depth into each of these ‘new deities’ (you want to know who you’re talking to, after all!). Each of the Four will receive their own post, and as before, questions are very welcome. These posts will cover their role in the Westernlands and our world, their relationships with the other gods, and links to other relevant posts. the Dierne          “Most beloved of the Four Gods,” the Dierne is the god I … [Read more...]

Four Gods: the Laetha

Whenever I go out for food, I lay aside a portion of my meal for the Laetha. He seems to prefer Italian and Greek food.

Briefly: Check-In

Have some ice cream, beauties.

A small break between posts on the Four Gods. I'm currently working on the Laetha's post, using massive amounts of Pandora and Dr. Pepper to push me through. There are a lot of interesting posts going around right now. Two of those include a post on what to expect and how to prepare for receiving a reading and another on small sacred spaces. I am continuing to work on the devotional scrapbook I'm making and have begun experimenting with a new symbol that might become a very important part … [Read more...]

Four Gods: the Ophelia

If you're wondering about the food pictures - they act as ideas for offerings as well as little e-offerings.

Four Gods: the Clarene

My friends are surprised by how much chocolate I buy - all for the Clarene.

Small Unimportant PSA

Cake for everyone who has been harassed for the last few days, for the simple act of standing up for themselves.

Last year, I left the behind the Pagan label because it didn’t accurately describe my religion or practice. When I interact with Pagans, I recognize that I am coming from an outside perspective. I realize that many Pagans won’t respect that I see myself as different from them, but it was an important step for me. It places my work with Pagans as interfaith, and it helps me keep up my own boundaries. When I start from a point of difference, I have an easier time dialoging in … [Read more...]

Four Gods of the Otherfaith

.

[This post will also be a separate page on this blog, for easy access. It can be found here.] Finally, a long-needed post about the Four Gods that currently rule my life. This post is meant to explain the role each of these gods has within their own deity-family as well as their relation to us. I’ll list epithets as well. This month I’ll be exploring these gods more in-depth here at Patheos. After all, this is a huge portion of my religious life, and while I could blog about all the … [Read more...]

Small Spirits: Preparation

the faeries in my home prefer cookies and cupcakes, though milk is a more common offering.

Before we even pour out our first offering to the faeries, we need to go over some basics. It’s important to note that everything I do starts from the standpoint that the spirits are autonomous and equal or greater than us. Both of those beliefs influence how I work and what I do. I am aware of other paradigms that people work in, but I won’t be exploring those in these posts. Because of my beliefs, I take this work seriously, and everything I do is based on respect for the spirits. That … [Read more...]

More on Consent + Consumerism

tumblr_mn7rfnImOX1rya3cfo1_500

I wrote on Sunday about cleansing and also mentioned a spirit that I’ve been interacting with – Mircea. His name is first mentioned in this story here. He later adopts the name Jealousy, and I’ve written about him here and here (two versions of the same event). His presence is felt throughout the whole ‘first mythos’ of the West (which will hopefully be solidly written by the end of this summer!). As noted in my previous post, he is the main antagonist in the Otherfaith. I know, I … [Read more...]

the Clarene + choice

A fitting (in a way) offering for the Clarene.

I finished the second page of a devotional scrapbook I’m working on. I know nothing about scrapbooking; this is merely my first attempt at grasping a craft I can use for the spirits. An immanent faith does not shame pretty keepsakes, right? The scrapbook is for one of the Four Gods that have opened themselves to me: the Clarene. In the book she is called the ‘highest and foremost of the gods dwelling Westward’ (which here refers to the otherworld land that overlays with our own, the … [Read more...]
