Getting clear about my place: the uses of withdrawal

The body, sex and pleasure are all sacred, and it is vital not to exclude any aspect of our humanity from our spiritual development. However, I do think there is a place for withdrawal, even in immanence-based spiritual paths. My sense of my own space and place in the world is stronger, more rooted, and much, much calmer for my time of withdrawal.
