It’s kind of amazing to think about the fact that we are standing on the surface of a ball that’s hurtling through space. We can get into an airplane and fly over the surface of that ball, and when we get out, we’re standing on another part. It’s the same ball, but things are so different. As I approached the forest last week, I remembered that the reason it exists there is because of a sort of exclusion zone in the middle of the city. A Tale of Hospital Spirits

During those quiet days of the weekend I had time to sit in the hospital and think about the energy of the place. I realized that I mostly shut it out, not wanting to know or think about what goes on in there. But even in a sleepy hospital in a small town surrounded by wheat and lentil fields, there is the frenetic energy of life and death and scary moments that change people forever.
