The media should boycott Trump June 14, 2016

Trump has cancelled the press credentials of the Washington Post:

Donald Trump said Monday that he is “revoking” the Washington Post’s press access at his campaign events, calling the newspaper “phony and dishonest.”
In a Facebook post, the presumptive GOP nominee attributed the decision to the newspaper’s “incredibly inaccurate coverage” of him.

That headline was the result of an interview Trump gave to Fox News on Monday morning.
“Look, we’re led by a man that either is not tough, not smart, or he’s got something else in mind,” Trump said of Obama. “And the something else in mind — you know, people can’t believe it. People cannot, they cannot believe that President Obama is acting the way he acts and can’t even mention the words ‘radical Islamic terrorism.’ There’s something going on. It’s inconceivable. There’s something going on.”Trump’s remarks about Obama were widely interpreted to be sinister in nature.

As the widespread coverage of this blacklisting notes, Trump hates any media that is critical in any way. he wants the eyeballs but not the journalism. Basically, trump wants all the media to be Buzzfeed.

I think however that the journalistic media has far more power than they realize, and certainly far more than Trump gives them credit for. If they want to make a statement, the media should boycott Trump for one week. No stories, no coverage, no oxygen. Let’s see how Trump fares. I predict he’ll come crawling back on hands and knees.

Boycott Trump for a week, media. Try it and be empowered.
