Henry

Some of you may remember a little Ukranian orphan boy named Henry, whom I blogged about over a year ago. Henry has been home with his adoptive family here in the States for just a year. It’s been a difficult year filled with surgeries, and the “big one” was just three weeks ago. Little Henry developed a massive infection last week and died last night. His mama Carla blogged about their journey to bring Henry home and his final trip to his ultimate home here. Leila wrote a beautiful tribute to Henry here.

There’s nothing I can say better than Carla and Leila already have, but please join me in praying for Henry and his family.

This breaks my heart. So much courage goes into adopting any child, let alone one from such dire circumstances. I only hope someday I can know that kind of faith and bravery.
Also, I didn’t comment before but I hope you are feeling better. I have been feeling burnt out and alone myself lately and I started seeing a therapist. I hope you visit the priest again. Sometimes talking to a complete stranger really helps. Praying for you all.

Oh, this hits close to home. We are waiting for another daughter through adoption, one who will require surgery, and has another special need we will need to address quickly after she comes home. I just loved the truth Leila spoke — that his life was not in vain, and was all about redemption, and hope for other children too. God bless Henry’s family — I will be praying for them as they mourn.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, amen.

Lord God, who created Man from the clay, we offer you our prayers for the repose of the innocent Henry. Be with his family, and all of those who loved him. Console them in their grief, aid them in their recovery, and grant that their memories of Henry shine with the light of his and Your love.
    Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.
    Amen.

Didn’t read about Henry in your past post, but the death of any child is very hard. May that beautiful boy rest in peace.
