In case you haven’t heard by now, Jennifer Fulwiler of Conversion Diary and Minor Revisions fame was admitted to the hospital yesterday with pulmonary embolisms in both lungs. This is a complication of her clotting disorder, which is always more dangerous in pregnancy. She is due in May. Please keep her, the baby, her husband and all their other kids in your prayers. Hallie Lord is posting updates on Twitter if you want to follow her (@HallieLord) and I’ll be passing along info on Twitter and my public Facebook updates as I receive it. If you want to help the Fulwilers in a more material capacity in addition to praying, Jennifer and her husband will be letting us know what they need at some point today. Here is the latest update from Hallie:
Update on Jen: They are holding off on surgery (though it’s still an option) due to the size of the PEs and the fact that she is pregnant. Right now she’s just on heavy doses of blood thinners and being watched closely. It’s great news that the night passed without incident, but until the PEs are completely dissolved, it remains a very dangerous and scary situation. Thank you all so much for your prayers! I’ll keep you posted as I find out more.
Special prayers of intercession to St. Michael would be greatly appreciated. He is Jen’s patron saint for the year, and she could definitely use his defense right now.
*Update from Hallie: “Just heard from Jen. Holding steady. Important test at 1 PM CST. Please pray for a happy result!” and Jen’s tweet: “Rough night, but baby and I still hanging in there. Still in hospital. Waiting for test results and treatment decisions.” Please keep praying, everyone.
** Update 1/3: Jen was discharged yesterday after the doctors decided to postpone surgery and treat her at home with blood thinners. She was readmitted today after she took a turn for the worse. No details yet, but I will update them as I get them. Please pray.
