Good Grief— the E-Book

I finally have some happy news to report. Mark Galli, senior editor at CT liked the Good Grief articles so well, that Christianity Today is turning them, plus another 35 pages of my reflections that don’t turn up on this blog, into an e-book which you can read on Kindle, and see the pictures in color on Kindle Fire. In addition, there will be a sample in the April print issue of Christianity Today. Finally, all profits from this book are going to be donated to a worthy charitable cause Christy would have supported. I know she will be happy about that.

Great news! I look forward to getting that ebook. This series has been enlightening and useful. It’s helped me understand more clearly my friends and family who have had loved ones have passed away. Thank you for sharing your thoughtful reflections!

If we don’t have a Kindle but do have an iPad, can we get it on iBooks?

  3. Wonderful!

That is wonderful news. I was hoping you would do something with all this difficult, yet encouraging work.

Hi Krissi: I think so but I am not sure.

If it is not available on iBooks, there is a Kindle app on the iPad as well :-)

I am also looking forward to reading this book!

Wonderful news, Ben. A Kindle ebook can be read on an iPad by loading the Kindle app onto an iPad from the App Store. Purchase the ebook from Amazon and set the book to download onto your iPad, on the right hand side of the screen. The book will be seen and read in the Kindle App on your iPad rather than the iBooks app.

I too will be very much looking forward to the book. I was toying with the idea of asking your permission to turn your thoughtful expression into a sermon series with the same title “Good Grief” as we have had several painful experiences in our community here. I thought it too soon to ask such a thing, and now will offer the book instead, and in that way, honor your Christy as well, I trust. May God bless and comfort you as you have blessed and comforted so many of us.

  13. Benw333 says:

Betty I would be honored if you also did a sermon series…

    Ben

  14. Diana Trautwein says:

YES. So glad to read this – these are words that all grieving people (and those who love them) need to have in their hands.

  15. Paul says:

Very good to hear, Ben. I’ve read with interest, since a co-worker of mine recently lost his son to suicide and I hope to cautiously comfort him in his affliction, largely based upon the counsel you offer and the experiences you record.

May God grant rest in your pain as he has to Christy’s soul.

  16. Ben Irwin says:

Glad to hear it. Your series has been powerful in many ways. God’s peace to you.
