Mark Twain’s Story and Prayer about War

Thanks to Max Hillier for alerting me to this link. N.B. Lawrence Ferlinghetti was a famous beat poet in the late 50s and 60s who plays the voice of the minister.

Ben thanks for this. Aren’t you going to blog about Andy Griffith, the lawman without a gun? He reminds me of you, especially the humor.

Great idea Tom. I will do that. Andy is not only a fellow North Carolinian, he is a fellow Tar Heel, and one of my Dad’s favorite persons. Andy is not very well at this point, finishing out his life in Manteo at the Outer Banks. BW3

I find this curious. Lots of input on issues like tax in the previous post, yet this topic is a no go. Why are people silent about this war issue? The video describes how prayer for victory means prayer for misery for the others and those at home. In the sixties there was a massive social conscience about the war, but there does not seem to be one today. Why is this so?
