Saints and Sinners of Ireland

Saints and Sinners of Ireland July 26, 2017

You never know who you’ll meet on the Emerald Isle. And I rounded a corner and ran into this gentleman….ss Maybe its a new golf outfit for when he’s playing in St. Andrews on his course there. But I digress… Ireland is a thoroughly Catholic country by heritage, and very conservative in social matters as well. And one of the traditional practices is honoring saints, visiting springs of holy water, and the like. ss1ss2

This is St. Kieran’s spring, where you go for the holy water. ss5 As for me, I was not going to drink that or use those cups, spring water or no spring water. The only Irish Spring I use is the shampoo.

In the same region there is more interesting coastline—ss7ss8

And of course an endless supply of cute cottages… such as Kelly cottage…

Andlso an endless supply of ferns…
ss10 I did not once see a garden hose anywhere. They hardly need them. It rains and rains… I forgot also an endless supply of sheep products— including sheep art. Anyone feeling sheepish?
