Mork, Mindy & Millennials

Mork, Mindy & Millennials November 27, 2015

I graduated from high school in the mighty class of 1982. My classmates and I were the last of the Baby Boomers. During our teen years we experienced the disco revolution, we cheered Rocky on to his first boxing title, and we were made happy by “Happy Days”, “Mork & Mindy”, and “Treasure Island.” O.K., not so much by “Treasure Island.” But the Lawrence Welk Show faded and Journey stole the stage. Many of you were there. The last of the Baby Boomers—good times.

Another group was just being born and continue to shape society in very significant ways. They are the Millennials—those born between 1981 and 1996. Today Millennials are between 20 and 35 years old. They are the children and grandchildren of many who read this blog.

When it comes to religion, Millennials are very different from baby boomers. They are much less religious but still spiritual. How does that work? If you want to better understand the Millennials in your world and their views on religion you may take great interested in the following report recently released by Pew Research.

I’m fascinated by Millennials. After all, most of my children are Millennials. I trust you bump into Millennials all the time. I also trust that many of you ARE Millennials. With that in mind, open the report and enjoy the exploration.
