A Few Thoughts about Rick Santorum Suspending His Campaign

Just now, Rick Santorum suspended his Presidential campaign, after a weekend at the hospital with his three year old daughter Bella. As you probably are aware, Bella was born with Trisomy 18 — a genetic disorder similar to Down syndrome that’s caused her short life to be an ongoing battle.

No matter who you support for President in 2012, you have to admire how Sen. Santorum champions life – he fights for it in Washington and he fights for it in his own home, day after day.

As he suspends his 309 day campaign, let’s honor his pro-life conviction by watching this touching campaign video. No, he doesn’t have a campaign anymore, but we’ll never stop the fight for life.

Thanks for posting this, Bristol. I thank you for helping to keep putting forth the fact that family comes first. You, your Mom, and now Santorum are perfect and serious examples of what is right in life.

I saw the announcement. Although Santorum is suspending his campaign he is not giving up the fight for America’s future. And speaking of the future, after Romney’s two terms in office Santorum will STILL be younger than Romney is now.

I’m praying for his daughter. My baby girl had Trisomy 18 also but we lost her almost 2 months after she was born. I just discovered his daughter had this reading Bristol’s blog. Its not a disorder you here about alot. What a blessing he still has her in his life. Cherish ever moment with your children and tell them everyday you love them no matter what.

If your mom would get in this race, she would have my 110% support!! I think she would make the best President at this time for our Nation. She is one who stands up for what she believes in and does not flip flop. She loves America like not other current candidate and cares about the future of our Nation. I pray if it’s God’s will that she will get in.

Well said Bristol. He is a great example of a great dad and he loves this country. We need more men like him. I know your family is loving also and lets pray for all going forward. There is only one lady I want to cast my ballot for but if that never happens I will follow her gentle lead. God Bless ….now lets fight for our kids and our country!!!! Game On!!!!!

Kudos to Santorum and I understand why he chose his family over politics! I love the picture of him holding his beautiful little girl with such joy on his face.

What an awesomely beautiful story. This is the kind of man our country needs for a leader. Perhaps he will run again in a future election.

Its sad that only the good people have sense to stay out of politics, when that’s where we need the good people most.
