Heartwarming Story for C-c-c-cold Times

You’d have to live in Alaska to really appreciate this story, but I thought I’d pass it along:

When their blind eight-year-old dog went missing from their remote Alaskan home in a heavy snowstorm, the Grapengeter family felt sure they’d never see her again. But after more than a week of searching in temperatures as low as minus 40C, Abby, a brown-and-white mixed-breed whom the Grapengeters rescued from an animal shelter as a puppy, turned up safe and sound at the home of a local vet.

As many of you know, I’ve lost my dog before and know how scary that can be.  So glad the Grapengeters have Abby back home!

As a pet owner, I loved this story on so many levels. First, Abby’s a shelter dog; second, she found her way to a vet’s house; third, the vet tried to find the owner; and fourth, thanks to good neighbors, Abby is home. It takes a village!

The day after the election we were adopted by a black and white older kitten who we found lying on the gas pedal in our PT Cruiser. She is a sweet heart and you can only tell that she is grateful to us for giving her a place to live !

Abby is a lucky dog to have survived a snowstorm and temps that low.
    Good post, Bristol.

Update on that Black and white kitten that has moved in, she now looks upon herself as ruler of the house!

That WAS a heartwarming story about the dog that was found!

Firdst love then marriage. What at novel idea! Jesus came up with it first. His ways are always right. They make for orderly and happy lives for us. (I hope you, Bristol, will be married soon.)
