Seriously, Washington Post?

Needless to say, my mom is not joining Al-Jazeera. Nathaniel Botwinick over on NRO reports:

Suzi Parker at the Washington Post fell for a satirical article on Sarah Palin joining Al-Jazeera this morning:

The Sarah Palin Story is a cautionary tale about what can happen when politics and celebrity meet.

Fox News and their once-upon-a-time darling Palin recently parted ways after three years. But never fear. Palin has a new media outlet by which to share her commentary.

Late last week Al Jazeera America announced the former vice-presidential candidate would be joining their news network.

Read Parker’s article here, which has since been corrected.  However, the writer is still getting a lot of attention for the flub on Twitter.

In fact, thanks to people like Michelle Malkin, #SuziParkerScoops is now trending:

For those who needed more convincing that the lamestream media will run with anything that makes my family look bad, here’s the millionth example.

Don’t worry girl, we got your mom’s back. It’s been fun mocking the heck out of Suzi Parker. :)

    • http://yahoo.com john norton

“Washington Compost” PDS= Suzzie Q Parker … LOL

  • Brian McAndrew

When will these hatchet job articles stop?!

  • Reba

I am a serious conservative and read Al Jazeera English and have found it intelligent, quite unbiased reporting. I’m looking forward to Al Jazeera America replacing Current TV this year, and hope that they will be able to continue the objective journalism I’ve seen on AJE (and not be beholden to politcal ideologues on EITHER side). We need some true news here in America (there are a lot of young people here who only know polarized reporting, from one side or the other). Don’t knock it until you’ve read it!

    • TrueBlue

Thank you, Reba. I agree. But I’m afraid that simply reading “Al Jazeera” inspires fear and loathing in many Americans. There are worse agencies that Mrs. Palin could work for. Nevertheless, Ms. Parker should do a better job of verifying her sources. What a mistake to have made.

      • Reba

You’re right, clearly, Suzi Parker wasn’t doing her job as a journalist (like most “journalists” these days). The fear and loathing you mention is an indication of the rampant islamophobia and xenophobia that too many people are eager to foment.

  • David

Suzi Parker is probably wishing that she had not written that article about your Mom.
I have read a lot of Tweets making fun of Suzi this morning.
Michelle Malkin’s Tweet was the first one that I read.
I’ll bet that Suzi knows what “backfire” means now.

  • SueinCali

Are you people out of your minds??!! I’d rather see Sarah with a gig on MSNBC than anything to do with AL Jazeera. Not sure what you find intelligent, unbiased and objective about throwing a party over a toddler having her brains bashed against a wall simply because she was Jewish. Get a grip and do a little “objective and unbiased” investigation of your own before singing the praises of Al Jazeera. Current TV on it’s worst day was a thousand times better than the propaganda machine Al Jazeera.

    • Reba

I get AJE feeds on my Facebook and read and watch their news on their iPad app, and I have never read anything slightly anti-American, anti-semitic, nor condoning of terrorism. From whom do you get your information, Pamela Geller?

      • melory

The things Sarah makes these people do!!! ROFLOL!!

    • TrueBlue

I have no idea what you’re talking about, SueinCali. Couldn’t find anything of that sort in a Google search, either. Links, please?

    • TrueBlue

Never mind, SueinCali. I’ve found what you were referring to. I suppose if you believe that Al Jazeera English is nothing but a front for all extremists, then I can see why you wouldn’t visit that site. BTW, have you read about Ted Nugent? Although he was paid a Secret Service visit for threatening President Obama, and although he told a concert audience that President Obama and Hilary Clinton “could suck on the business end of his machine gun,” he’s going to be in the audience at the State of the Union. Why? Because some have branded him a “great patriot” for sharing his unabashed, raucous, even violent rhetoric about killing the democratically elected head of his own country. So who are our enemies? I guess that’s a relative question.

      • MiddleRoader

Nugent was Rep. Steve Stockman’s plus-1 guest, so I guess as long as he’s cleared by security, he should be allowed to attend (although he’s probably experiencing separation anxiety from being away from his guns.) Stockman, who thinks Nugent is an “articulate spokesman,” has compared Obama to Saddam Hussein, so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that he invited the Nuge.
As for Suzi Parker, she must have enough egg on her face to make the World’s Largest Omelet. Very shoddy journalism. She should do more than just correct the post; she should also apologize. (I don’t think she has.)

  • Sue B

Ridiculous!! I would not have a thing to do with anything AJE.

  • NanaJ

Washington Post is a “fictional flyer”. We verify news online and read other beltway papers like the Washington Times.

  • Thomas Hubbard

Bristol as I have heard your mother say, WHAT A BUNCH OF CRAP. OOOOOOP’S I just had to say that!

  • SueinCali

Al Jazeera is Al Jazeera is Al Jazeera. It is all one and the same and there is no excusing the celebration of killing Jewish babies. You seem to not be able to grasp that part. No “respectable” news organization would condone such atrocities for one audience and not the other. And what the HECK does Ted Nugent have to do with celebrating the murder of Jews?

Reba, I will chalk your ignorance up to simply being uninformed. When you rely on Facebook for your news and current events, you are bound to remain ignorant. TrueBlue, you are a liberal shill. What are you doing on this blog. Nobody cares about your anti-semitic opinions.

    • TrueBlue

      Name calling isn’t nice.

  • SueinCali

Oh excuse me. On second thought, I see “Reba” is simply an alter ego of “TrueBlue”. The lefty trolls have too much time on their hands today.

Islamophobia indeed. At least if you are going to try to troll a conservative blog incognito, be a little creative.

    • Reba

Hahahaha… me, a lefty? No, I am a true conservative who understands that our nation was founded on freedom of EVERY religion to practice freely here, so I don’t buy into the xenophobic garbage Pamela Geller and her ilk are selling. You are the one that has been brainwashed. Google: rothschilds federal reserve, if you care about who truly owns this country.

    • TrueBlue

SueinCali, I am not Reba. You are wrong. And angry.

    • TrueBlue

And SueinCali, you’re incredibly “tolerant” of differing opinions. I’ll bet you’ll claim to be a “Christian” next.
