Bethlehem, Pennsylvania? Nice Touch, Mom!

You may have seen this on my mom’s Facebook page, but I couldn’t resist.  Her book publication date is getting closer, and tomorrow her book tour schedule is being released.  This is what caught my eye:

Tomorrow we will announce the details of our upcoming “Good Tidings and Great Joy” book tour scheduled to start November 12th in the beautifully named Bethlehem, PA. This book is not about isolated trivialities. It’s not really just about gingerbread cookies, or stockings hung by the chimney with care, or the big fat man with the long white beard. It’s not about one holiday at all. It’s about that little baby wrapped in swaddling clothes who arrived long before hope and change became political manipulations. It’s about Christ and our ability to worship Him freely. It’s about America, and what liberty truly means in our day-to-day lives. It’s an empowering message that can change your life and help rebuild what is GOOD in this world! I am beyond excited to share this unique book with you and your loved ones. You can pre-order “Good Tidings and Great Joy: Protecting the Heart of Christmas” here:

Amazon

Barnes & Noble

I can’t wait to hear from you as we apply this positive message to our everyday living and commit to ignoring the “political correctness” that would lead us to do otherwise!

Sincerely,

Sarah Palin

Bethlehem, Pennsylvania?  You can’t pick a better place to start a book tour for a book called “Good Tidings and Great Joy.”  Any of you live near there who are planning on going to see her?

Christmas has been a federal/public holiday since 1870. Sounds like a festive day off for you and the girlz at the least. You wish to abolish it?

Sure. Keep your eyes and mind open, light can come in any time.

I lived n Bethlehem, PA many years ago. I loved that town. I definitely will get the book! Shirley from Coldwater, MI

  • Itarion

I’ve said this before [elsewhere], and I’ll no doubt say it again, but… Can we wait until December to start celebrating Christmas? I’m all for celebrations and holidays and family and that, but please please PLEASE [really, this goes for the retail industry more than anyone else] DON’T start selling us Christmas crap [just for the alliteration, I don’t really mean crap] until December.

    • otlset

Yeah, and that goes for trick-or-treat candy in September, firecrackers in June, chocolate bunnies in February, and Hillary-for-prez in 2014! Enough!

      • Itarion

        EXACTLY!

    • otlset

By the way, no alliteration — much of that IS crap!

      • Itarion

Yes, well. This blog is, in general, mildly hostile to my opinions and thinkings, being the left-tilted fellow that I am. So I pull back on severity of the presentation just a little bit. Or maybe a lot sometimes. [Left tilting, mind you. Not Democrat, I’m not affiliated with either party. See, look, I’m pulling back on my presentation again.] If you want to see the original wording, it’s here: http://www.patheos.com/blogs/friendlyatheist/2013/11/06/send-us-your-heathen-holiday-cards-2/#comment-1112100615

We will be going to her signing at the Villages in FL. We love her books. Just noticed online that the gnat is inserting himself in the news just before the tour begins. We’re praying for you.

  • Nog

Well at least millions of Americans will be getting good healthcare for Christmas even though sadly many just lost or had there food stamps cut short as well.nfor a so called Christian nation it seems good stewardship of the poor is not really importent.

  • Kristy Patullo

That is pretty awesome! But so is your Mom. Wish she would make New England one
of her stops. I’d be super thrilled to meet her!

  • otlset

I love how the author Dan Amira correctly describes himself and his ilk like the bikergirlz in the piece as “whiny and litigious secularists”. Well-put! But I would have also added “arrogant, condescending, self-righteous and smug”.

And as the late troll Jeff here used to merely dismiss any information (even facts) if it came from a conservative source, I will likewise in the same vein say about the “New York Magazine” as not even fit to use as cat litter much less read as mind litter.

    • Jeff

“Late”? You’ll be happy to know I’m alive and kicking otlset.

      • otlset

        Lol!

  • Nog

The funny thing is that Christmas is not even in the bible. It’s roots come more from pagen origins than Christian. The goal for any christian is how they treat others, not how they get treated. The government can’t establish a religion and like it or not other people have rights. The churches are not threatened, what’s being threatened is this idea that a Holliday must be celebrated just one way as dictated by a single group of people.

“I LOVE the commercialization of Christmas” – Sarah Palin on the Today Show 11.12.13

  • TrueBlue

Will Sarah Palin be donating any proceeds from the sale of this book to charities in the true spirit of Christmas? I’d like to appeal on behalf of my local food bank, if so. It’s a wonderful organization. Or will all profit go to SarahPAC?

    • $70129662

      Busy-body.

Conservatives are generous with their own money, unlike liberals who are only generous with money government steals from other citizens.

Michelle Obama’s buddy from college got the contract for creating of the Obamacare website, more than half a billion for a freaking website, nice to have friends in high places.

While money taken from foodstamps (SNAP programme) goes to Michelle Obama’s Let Move scheme. I can continue… There is also Feinstein whose husband makes millions off selling Government-owned post office buildings, the Clintons (Maureen Dowd told us all about their using charities to enrich themselves), Nancy Pelosi earmarking funds that would benefit her husband’s investments, etc.

      • TrueBlue

“Conservatives are generous with their own money, unlike liberals who are only generous with money government steals from other citizens.” I won’t make any generalizations about Conservative “Christians,” despite the red meat you continue to offer me. Be gone.

        • $70129662

Hey, you came in here making sarcastic remarks and insinuations about Sarah, now you play the victim. Be gone!

          • TrueBlue

            As I said, hit a nerve… :)

          • $70129662

Why is it so important for you to pretend you have hit a nerve? :) Is it because you were hurt? If it makes you feel better, a nerve was definitely hit, and it wasn’t mine. :)

Now cheer up and let’s talk about the corrupt Michelle O, Clintons, Feinstein and Pelosi? Or are you avoiding the subject?

      • $70129662

        duplication – disqus?

    • $70129662

      Busy-body.

Appeal to Michelle Obama on behalf of your local foodbank since funds were cut from foodstamps (SNAP) and diverted to her Let’s move scheme.

Conservatives are generous with their own money, unlike liberals who are only generous with money government steals from other citizens.

Michelle Obama’s buddy from college got the contract for creating of the Obamacare website, more than half a billion for a freaking website, nice to have friends in high places.

There are also the issues of Feinstein whose husband makes lots of money off the selling of Government-owned post offices, the Clintons (Maureen Dowd told us all about their using charities to enrich themselves), Nancy Pelosi earmarking funds that would benefit her husband’s investments, etc.

    • $70129662

Why don’t you appeal on behalf of your local food bank to Michelle Obama, since funds were cut from foodstamps (SNAP) to pay for her Let’s Move scheme.

Also the contract for creating of the Obamacare website was given to a college buddy of hers (more than half a billion dollars for a freaking website), nice to have friends in high places.

There are also the issues of Feinstein, whose husband is making lots of money off selling Government-owned post office buildings, Pelosi who is earmarking funds for investments that would benefit her husband (Pelosi’s wealth increased by 62% in one year), and the Clintons, who Maureen Dowd told us, are getting rich off the so-called charities that they “support”.

Seems to me there is more than enough corruption by Dem politicians to keep you busy for a long time.

Btw, it is common knowledge that conservatives are more generous than liberals, with our own money of course, unlike liberals who are only generous with money government steals from other citizens.

Bottomline: Sarah Palin can do with her own money whatever she wants, it is none of your business. Concern yourself with the public money Michelle O is funneling to her friends and her multi-billion dollar schemes.

      • Nog

Had to laugh. The republicans cut food stamps to pay for the farm subsidies that benifeted them. Republicans are on record for not wishing to help the needy or the poor or are veterans. Remember the shutdown. Palin is not a political entity, she’s a private citizen trying to make a buck, sadly she does it by complaining about things that she has no stake in, no real knowledge of nor will ever run for office again to change.

        • otlset

Please show some proof of your broad-brushed stereotype hate-speech assertion that “Republicans are on record for not wishing to help the needy or the poor or are veterans.”

          • Nog

Just read the paper my friend, it’s all there and it’s all real, just start with the shut down and go from there.

          • otlset

Heh, you got nothing. Nothing except the collapse of ‘well-meaning’ but ultimately corrupt and fraudulent big government liberalism happening all around you.

      • 1MiddleRoader

Not that I really care, but it’s not “common knowledge” that conservatives are more generous than liberals; it’s still being debated:
        http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wonkblog/wp/2012/10/21/study-conservatives-and-liberals-are-equally-charitable-but-they-give-to-different-charities/

        • TrueBlue

Of course, generalized statements like “conservatives are more generous than liberals” are wholeheartedly embraced only by angry people who have totally dehumanized people who don’t see things as they do. It’s an ignorant statement.

          • $70129662

Regarding conservatives being more generous than liberals, hey, you guys pretend to care about scientific studies, google is your friend (famous liberal saying), google the subject and you will find the evidence as shown by these studies. (but don’t worry, you will also find the liberal spin about the results, see MR).

          • $70129662

“angry people who have totally dehumanized people who don’t see things as they do” This is what they say about liberals (and is what liberals did to Bush, Palin and unborn babies – dehumanized them ), are you projecting?

      • TrueBlue

I hit a nerve, as I usually do with good ol’ melory4. So…I take it that all profit will go to SarahPAC. Thanks, mel.

        • otlset

How can anyone tell but Sarah herself what she will do with the book profits? I’m sure if you ask her nicely though she might donate something for your cause.

          • TrueBlue

Here’s what I wrote: “Will Sarah Palin be donating any proceeds from the sale of this book to charities in the true spirit of Christmas? I’d like to appeal on behalf of my local food bank, if so. It’s a wonderful organization.” That reads like a simple question to me. I wasn’t telling anyone how to spend the book profit. I’m a big supporter of my local food bank. I’m not sure of the politics of people who utilize its services, but because I’m in a southern state, I’m sure some would enjoy a Palin shout-out. otlset, please say you’re not getting your knickers in a twist about my question like ol’ melory4…

          • $70129662

The only person with knickers in a twist is ol’ TB. How ’bout we talk about Michelle O’s Let’s Move scheme getting money cut from foodstamps (SNAP) and her friend in Canada getting the contract for the more than half a billion dollar fraud of a website?

I am happy when you ask these typical ignorant- busy-body- liberal questions, it gives me the opportunity to talk about the corrupt Democrats and shine the light on liberal hypocrisy, so bring it on. :)

          • otlset

If it’s a simple question, then I repeat my simple answer: ask her nicely and she might donate something to your cause. You are over-reacting in your misreading of my post above.

          • TrueBlue

OK, then, I’ll take your suggestion. It would be awesome to get a response and might do wonders to improve my opinion about this book and Mrs. Palin. I’ll let you know. :)

          • otlset

            Tell her otlset says Hey!

          • $70129662

With all the public money being funneled to Michelle and Barack’s friends and campaign contributors, and everything leftist Maureen Dowd told us about the Clintons and their abuse of charities, you would think these busy-body liberals would have enough to talk about.

        • 1MiddleRoader

Actually, I’m not even sure the profit will go to SarahPAC, although I could easily be wrong about that. If SarahPAC is funding her book tour, then she probably will reimburse them for that. But any excess profit, would (I think) be hers to do with as she wishes. I suspect she will give a portion to charity; (my guess would be a veteran assistance org, as opposed to a Food Bank). But the point is you absolutely have the right to ask. And Sarah Palin has the right not to answer.

        • $70129662

In your dreams. Seems I have hit a nerve, judging from the responses!

Now can we talk about the corruption by Michelle O and the others that I brought up?

          • Nog

Easy there is none, the food stamp program was cut by the republicans to funnel the money in to farm subsidies to make them richer.

          • $70129662

There is a reason they call your kind low information voters.

I will have to educate you about the whole foodstamp program – I know it is a waste of time, though – low information voters hear no evil, see no evil – leftist government is king.

          • Nog

My kind, I am an American, I vote informed, I have a family, I am a veteran. What kind am I again?

          • $70129662

The kind that believes everything the leftist media and government tell them.

          • Nog

I see your a bitter person so I will take the Christian high road and forgive you and pray for your well being. There is no right or left, just God who we will all stand in front of one day, I just hope he knows you.

          • $70129662

Bitter? Why is it that when you disagree with a liberal you are “bitter” or a “hater” or “angry”? It is really interesting how liberals operate.

They come to the website of a conservative young woman, accuse her and her family, and those who believe like them, of all kinds of ugly things – and when there is push back – the same liberals turn around and play the victim. What is that all about?!

          • Nog

Actually you demented person this is an open board that attracts both positive and negative inputs us its written by a political hack hired to be Bristol.

          • $70129662

            Palin-haters are such nice people.
So this is an open board, don’t make false accusations and then whine and get angry when there is push back, you demented liberal:).

      • 1MiddleRoader

Oh, Mel, you made me do some research for this one, so thank you for that. It was interesting. As I understand it, Obama signed the Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act in 2010, which would provide free lunch programs in schools and sets nutritional standards for schools. It will take effect next year. At the time, Obama said that some of funding would come from rolling back SNAP increases in 2013 and that he was committed to working with Congress to restoring the funds. Well, I guess that never happened. While Michelle O advocated for the Act, and has made nutritional issues one of her priorities, it’s not directly connected to her “scheme,” as far as I can tell. It was robbing Peter to pay Paul, but I suppose you could argue that at least it is going directly to children. BTW, Mike Huckabee, GOP Senator Bill Frist, several faith-based charities, and 2 former chairmen of the Joint Chiefs of Staff expressed support for it.

        • $70129662

Now on to whitewashing Pelosi, Feinstein and the Clintons…

I would also like to hear the spin about her friend in Canada getting the contract for the Obamacare website.

You may like this, at least Glenn Beck (liberals’ heads exploding!) thinks what the president and Michelle did with foodstamp money is genius:

“This is absolutely genius, evil, but genius. And here’s why,” Glenn explained. “Do you really think that the people who are on food stamps are ever, ever going to get the message or believe the message that the First Lady and the President took their food stamp money? No one will. They are never going to get that message. Who are they going to get that from? The community organizers? The Jeremiah Wrights of the world? No one will get that message… It will just make them hate the rich, the Republicans, and everything else, and the President is willing to do another boldface lie. And he’ll come out and he’ll say, ‘They have cut your food stamps.’ And they will believe him.”

“It is diabolical. It is genius and diabolical,” he concluded. “We’re playing a game against people who do not have any ethics, no ethics. There are no ethics.”
          http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&frm=1&source=web&cd=3&cad=rja&ved=0CEQQtwIwAg&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.glennbeck.com%2F2013%2F11%2F12%2Fevil-but-genius-food-stamp-money-reallocated-to-michelle-obama%25E2%2580%2599s-let%25E2%2580%2599s-move-program%2F&ei=T7mGUuzyD6rIiwKV6ICoBQ&usg=AFQjCNE9xTn-78oKU_7niZOpQQWyE5Vo8w&bvm=bv.56643336,d.cGE

          New York post reported this:
          http://nypost.com/2013/11/11/obama-takes-from-kids-dinners-to-fund-michelles-project/

          • 1MiddleRoader

You are probably right or at least partly right about Pelosi, etc. I don’t have the time or energy to delve into it. You can pretty much spin the wheel and whatever politician it falls on will have some shady dealings (You can add Michelle Bachman and Darrel Issa to your list.)
But regarding the SNAP funds, Glenn Beck is (surprise!) wrong. Obama did not divert the funds, Congress did. Obama’s mistake was thinking he could work with Congress. Yes, both sides are to blame when they can’t work together, but fact is, GOP did cut the SNAP money. We can argue over whether that is right or wrong, considering the debt, etc., but it’s a fact.

          • $70129662

Of course Obama is never to blame. Point is foodstamp money went to Michelle’s scheme, while Republicans are being blamed for taking it away. It is dishonest and misleading.

          • 1MiddleRoader

Point is that Congress, on a bipartisan basis, passed a law, in which some SNAP money went to providing nutritional lunches for schools. Remember Nancy Reagan’s “Just say No” anti-drug program, and Laura Bush’s literacy advocacy programs (the latter a very good cause, IMHO)? By your reasoning, any money allocated by Congress for counternarcotic and literacy programs would be going to their schemes? Come on, that’s dishonest and misleading.
