Read what an L.A. Businessman Bought for 400 American Soldiers During Airport Layover! Awesome! November 30, 2015

As we gathered around our table for Thanksgiving this past week, my family thanked God for the brave men and women in our military who risk everything to make sure that we are safe and free.

One businessman in L.A. lived out this thankfulness when he came upon a group of 400 soldiers during an airport layover during the holiday weekend.

People has the story:

On his way to visit Israel with his family, Los Angeles entrepreneur Shlomo Rechnitz came across a group of 400 U.S. soldiers during a lay over in Shannon, Ireland.

The servicemen were preparing to eat their paper sack dinners when Rechnitz asked their commanding officer if he could purchase hot meals for all of them instead.

When the commander said it was unnecessary, Rechnitz insisted and each soldier was then given $50 to dine out at a restaurant in the airport of their choosing.

“You guys risk your lives to protect me and protect my family. If I get to go out and see a whole bunch of Army soldiers and Marines, it’s something that makes me proud.” Rechnitz said to the group. “I just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

I love hearing stories about Americans showing respect and gratitude for our troops.  Especially when these men and women have to spend their holidays away from their family and friends for our sake.

The fact of the matter is there’s nothing we can do or say to fully appreciate everything they go through to fight evil in the world so we can be free here in the United States and relax with our families and friends. But I hope we can all be ready to show our appreciation in whatever small way we can when we come across a soldier, a veteran or a military family, just like Mr. Rechnitz did this weekend!
