This Thanksgiving – I’m thankful for my son… who’s six going on sixteen. I’m thankful he knows right from wrong. I’m thankful he works hard in school and in sports; and knows to respect his teacher, his parents, coaches, and any other adults in his life. I’m thankful he doesn’t have a sense of entitlement, that he doesn’t blame others when he’s in the wrong. I’m thankful he’s colorblind, and treats everyone the same.

But I worry when I see the world he’s living in.  What is going on lately?

I ran across this:

So, this is PARENTS and their KIDS, beating a man to death?  Because their kid made up a lie about the veteran? All you hear about are #BlackLivesMatter… Or about Mohammad and his damn clock. (Did you hear he’s suing his former town – for 15 MILLION DOLLARS! That’s a joke right? Unfortunately it’s not.)

I read the news everyday.  Not once did this pop up in the last 10 months.  It makes me ill.

Why do we only show the “controversial crime” — the type that eggs on protests, and stirs the pot for more?

When will people in the wrong be truly held accountable for their actions, and the police, and teachers be able to do their job again?

This man — a veteran — was attacked and beaten to his death, and no one even talks about it!!!

No one has shown what these people have savagely done – completely caught on tape, no arguing or question of who’s in the right or who’s on the wrong. No one has blinked an eye about it. And why? Because the victim is white?

Wake up America.

We need to stop talking about stories of people getting their feelings hurt, or people being wrongly accused and start talking about stories like this. We must hold people accountable for their actions.

No matter what color they are.
