Atheists Unveil Santa-Themed Christmas Billboard Encouraging People to “Skip Church” December 15, 2015

Grinches have reared their ugly heads again this Christmas season, and this time they are employing Santa Claus to spread their holiday gloom!

It’s that time of year again. Atheist activists have unveiled a Santa-themed billboard that encourages people to “skip church,” hoping to drive home the notion that there’s no relation between church attendance and being a moral person.

The billboards from American Atheists, a group based in Cranford, New Jersey, include an image of Santa and read, ”Go ahead and skip church! Just be good for goodness’ sake. Happy holidays!”

“We want people to know that going to church has absolutely nothing to do with being a good person,” American Atheists’ president David Silverman said in a statement. “The things that are most important during the holiday season — spending time with loved ones, charity, and being merry — have nothing to do with religion.”

Here is the billboard:

It’s so pathetic that this small group of grinches are so intimidated by a tiny baby in a manger that they are literally buying billboards all over the country to try to keep people out of His church. If Jesus isn’t the Son of God, then what are they so scared of anyways?

If only they would take the time to enter one of those churches they are spending so much money trying to keep others out of, they might learn that the tiny baby in a manger is actually the Prince of Peace who has come to bring good will towards ALL men.  His gift of love is so much greater than any gift Santa could ever bring.

So this Christmas season, let’s shout “Merry Christmas” to everyone we meet, including our atheist neighbors who may not return our cheeriness, remembering that we are all in desperate need of a Savior.
