I’m so proud of my husband!  Listen to him on this radio podcast:

Drew Dwyer is here this episode, former Marine and CIA operative, and we are absolutely honored to be joined by Marine Corps Medal of Honor recipient Dakota Meyer. Dakota is an extremely humble guy as you’ll see from this episode, and he answers some tough questions. He talks about his charity work, meeting President Obama, being married to Bristol Palin, how he felt about Donald Trump’s comments regarding the Gold Star family of Captain Khan, NFL player Colin Kaepernick not standing during the National Anthem, and of course what it’s like being a recipient of the Medal of Honor. You will surely be surprised by his feelings on receiving the Medal of Honor.

His part begins at about minute 12.  At one point, he is asked about the political controversy surrounding the Medal of Honor he received.  He responded about the “keyboard warriors.”

At the end of the day, I get it all the time.  They want to contradict stories.  This and that.  This is what I found out and came to terms with.  You know who had no influence on the medal of Honor?  There’s only one person who didn’t know.  That’s me.  I didn’t ask for it, nor do I want it.  I don’t go around wearing it.  I don’t go around talking about it.  People will say what they want to say, do what they want to do.  When people say ‘I would’ve done this,’ it’s probably because they’re missing an empty spot in their life.  they aren’t confident in who they are. Instead of saying congratulations and moving on, they talk about it more than I do.  I want to go out and makde a difference, to coninue service and make a different for all our veterans…  for all my brothers and sisters who have worn our nation’s cloth.  The medal of honor is no different htan any other medal that I wear on my chest.  All of them I receied because my training and because my brothers and sisters allowed me to do.”

He then goes on to explains where he keeps it — which surprises the radio host.
