See the beautiful tribute George W. Bush has in store for our nation’s finest – even though the Left mocks him for it September 26, 2016

Many former presidents spend their retirement fading into the pages of history.  But that can’t be said of President George W. Bush.  Although he has largely stayed out of politics since he left office in 2008, he has hardly been resting.  Instead, President Bush has used his platform to continue promoting education for all, empowering women all over the world, and supporting our nation’s veterans.  Not to mention he has continued to pursue his personal passions of biking and painting.

And now President Bush has brought together one of his personally passions with one of his deepest political convictions.

President Bush recently announced the upcoming release of his bookPortraits of Courage, which features 66 portraits of veterans painted by the President himself.

Growing out of President Bush’s own outreach and the ongoing work of the George W. Bush Institute’s Military Service Initiative, Portraits of Courage brings together sixty-six full-color portraits and a four-panel mural painted by President Bush of members of the United States military who have served our nation with honor since 9/11—and whom he has come to know personally. […]

Each painting in this meticulously produced hardcover volume is accompanied by the inspiring story of the veteran depicted, written by the President. Readers can see the faces of those who answered the nation’s call and learn from their bravery on the battlefield, their journeys to recovery, and the continued leadership and contributions they are making as civilians. It is President Bush’s desire that these stories of courage and resilience will honor our men and women in uniform, highlight their family and caregivers who bear the burden of their sacrifice, and help Americans understand how we can support our veterans and empower them to succeed.

All of the proceeds of this beautiful book will go to the George W. Bush Presidential Center, which is helping post-9/11 veterans and their families make a successful transition to civilian life and addresses issues of veteran wellness.

Of course many on the Left and in the media are mocking President Bush’s work, but never mind his ignorant haters.  No matter how much good we as Conservatives do in the world, they are always going to find a way to try to tear us down.

I think this book is a beautiful tribute to some of our nation’s finest, and I am thankful to have a former president who continues to honor our veterans in such personal and meaningful ways.
