Ohio saving lives after revoking abortion clinic’s license

Ohio saving lives after revoking abortion clinic’s license December 6, 2016

I would love to live in a world where abortions never happened. And though that’s going to be a long and hard-fought battle, at least it’s a little more difficult to obtain one in Daytona, Ohio.

The Women’s Medical Center of Dayton — don’t let the name fool you — had its license revoked by the state because it never applied for the kind that secured the proper backup care for patients in case of emergencies.

Ohio law requires stand-alone surgical facilities to be paired with nearby hospitals and physicians in case something goes wrong and a patient needs emergency care. In the case of abortion facilities, the mother could have an adverse reaction to the “procedure” and need extra medical attention. And in other cases, the aborted baby survives and needs to be rushed to the ER for life-saving treatment. The clinic has 15 days to appeal.

Thankfully, the “women’s center” is one of the last few abortion clinics in Ohio. This is good news on a number of fronts, but most importantly, it’s a huge step forward to protecting the lives of the unborn and stopping this awful practice.
