Let it Snow: Texas Style

Wintry weather in Texas normally means ice. So we make the most of it. With all of our sledding-type apparati at the grandparent’s in Colorado, we have to improvise a bit.

Cookie Boarding

3′ vertical drop on a sheet of ice, we can rip it up! No board, no problem. Just grab a cookie sheet.

P.S. Mom, I think you were right that I do need new cookie sheets for Christmas.

ice sledding into fence 6 feet away.

Wall of Ice Chunks. Note the grass in between layers. They tell me it’s for insulation, but I’m pretty sure it’s the lawn.

The Terrifying Trio: Do you think Cookie-Sheet-Boarder Cross will make it to the 2014 Winter Olympics?

Looks fun! And sadly, they might add that event to the Olympics. Some of the things that are Olympic sports truly boggle my mind.

From MN to TX — we think this looks awesome! Its too cold here to enjoy our snow, so send us a few more degrees, and we’ll be out with our cookie sheets too! Love it, Tex :)

Wow, looks like you’re making the best of the ice! We have very cold weather here, but no sign of snow or ice. It is amazing to think that two of my children have never really even seen snow!

Tex, this is AWESOME–from the Princeton ski team to cookie tray luge on Texas ice. Is there anything you can’t do?! Love it.

As I stare at my palm trees, I am hopeful for a flurry at least once this year!!!! I miss ‘weather’….even if it includes ice! Hat tip to your kiddos for being innovative!
