    While I am straight, and have been married to one woman for more than 45 years, I cannot understand the problems with allowing a loving relationship between two persons to have the same rights as a hetero-sexual marriage.
    For obvious reasons any legislation against same-sex marriage has the (undeserved) bonus for the state or private company of not having to pay spousal benefits in a same sex relationship. While the economic benefits for the state are considerable, the religious arguments are spurious.
