Before and After I Deconverted: The Development of My Sexual Imagination

This post is sexually explicit. Don’t read it if that makes you uncomfortable. And it’s about my own personal sexual interests. So you’ve been doubly warned if that makes you doubly uncomfortable. When I deconverted from Christianity at 21 years old I had never had sex. And I had gone to an evangelical Christian college [Read More...]

The Science of Orgasms

This video contains a whole lot of easy to assimilate scientific information about what happens during orgasms, all in less than 3 minutes, and the presentation is sufficiently matter-of-fact and straitlaced for the squeamish. It’s a nice sex education resource: Your Thoughts? [Read more...]

“You Can’t Stop Teenagers From Having Sex”

Don’t say “You can’t stop teenagers from having sex”. It’s not true. You can stop some of them. (I held out! And I know plenty of others who did too.) You just can’t stop enough of them with abstinence-only stuff and you just shouldn’t AIM to stop all of them with repressive anti-sex messaging. Study Finds That Free Birth Control Leads To Fewer Abortions

A question for Catholics: even if you think that it is less than ideal that people have sex that deliberately is not aimed at children, do you think that this supposed evil is actually so important an evil to prevent at all costs such that you would risk more abortions (which you think are murders) than permit it or at least accept public support for it? The Problems With The Ways Evangelicals Celebrate Sex

Evangelicals are not as anti-sex as outsiders think. There is a lot of pro-sex messaging that one can find in evangelical communities. But the ways that evangelicals praise idealize sex are often as problematic as the ways they infamously demonize it. [Read more...]
