To help promote The Big Book of Christian Mysticism, I have had some bookmarks printed up. As you can see, they feature the cover design of the book, along with a few interesting quotations from St. Francis de Sales, St. Catherine of Siena, and Karl Rahner, SJ. On the back of the bookmark are blurbs from folks like Richard Rohr, Cynthia Bourgeault, and Brian McLaren, endorsing the book.
Now, my job is to make sure these bookmarks get placed in the hands of people interested in mysticism. That’s where you, my dear readers, come it.
If you are associated with a bookstore (especially a Catholic, Episcopal, Cokesbury, or similar “mainline Christian” store) and would be willing to hand out these bookmarks to your customers, please let me know and I will send you a stack. The bookmarks do not promote any particular bookseller, and the only website mentioned on them is my own blog. The bookmarks are printed on nice, heavy stock, so anyone who reads will love them.
If your church, monastery, retreat or conference center has a place where bookmarks like this can be handed out, please let me know and I’ll send you some as well. Likewise, if you are part of a monastic associates group, centering prayer group or some other group devoted to contemplative or spiritual practice, I’ll be happy to send you one for every member of your group.
If you’re interested in quantities of the bookmarks, please send me a message via my contact page.
All I ask of anyone getting multiple bookmarks from me is that you make a genuine effort to distribute the ones I sent you. They cost me 5¢ each, so I don’t want to see them end up in the recycling bin (or worse, the trash).
I’m happy to send bookmarks to individuals, as well. Just so I don’t get eaten alive by postage costs, I’m asking individuals who want bookmarks to send me a self-addressed, stamped business-size (long) envelope. Just one stamp will do. I’ll send you two bookmarks (one for you and one for a friend) as well as a couple of my Julian of Norwich prayer cards, as shown here. These colorful cards feature an image of Julian from a stained glass window in Norwich Cathedral on one side, and my translation of the prayer of Julian (from chapter 5 of her book) on the other.
To get your bookmarks and prayer cards, send a stamped business-size envelope to:

I’m sorry, but I can only make this offer to folks with USA mailing addresses (but if you are overseas and want to talk to me about figuring out a way to get a quantity of these sent to you for your bookstore or center, send me a note on my contact page.
Hope to hear from you soon.
