In Atlanta, GA:

Beholding the Presence of God Every Day: Crafting a Personal Rule of Life

Saturday, August 24, 2013

8:30 am – 3:00 pm

Hosted by St. Bede’s Episcopal Church, 2601 Henderson Mill Road NE, Atlanta GA 30345

St. Benedict says, “God is waiting for us to translate his teachings into action.” For many Christians a Personal Rule of Life is a valuable tool for doing just that — experiencing the joy and purpose of faith on a daily basis. With its roots in the wisdom of the saints and mystics of the ages, but designed for meeting the needs and challenges of life today, a Rule of Life is a blueprint for growth in the Spirit and for responding to the call of Christ: to better love God, and love our neighbors as we love ourselves.

Spirituality, Meditation and Mysticism: An Introduction to the Meaning and Purpose of the Inner Life

Saturday, September 21, 2013

10:00 am – 2:00 pm

Hosted by the Chrysalis Center, 3527 Ellwood Avenue (in Carytown), Richmond, VA

More than a third of Americans identify themselves as “spiritual but not religious,” and are searching for spiritual experience outside traditional channels of religious faith. Even those who have a religious commitment often hunger for a deeper inner life. If this sounds like you, then come to this workshop, which will explore what spirituality is and why it matters, with an emphasis on meditation (the core spiritual practice) and mysticism (the heart of spiritual experience).
