BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD: AN INVITATION TO CONTEMPLATIVE PRAYER
This webinar presentation invites you to reflect on, and experience, the Christian tradition of contemplative (silent) prayer. Contemplative prayer has roots in the Bible (Psalm 62:1: “For God alone my soul waits in silence”) and was practiced by the early desert fathers and mothers as well as by Christians throughout history— and is undergoing a widespread renaissance today. Contemplation is a prayer of deep and restful silence, where we gently lay aside the busy-ness of our lives to savor God’s still small voice. The program includes a brief overview of the history of Christian contemplation, instructions in how to practice contemplative prayer, and time for questions and answers.
