I'm home from the Wild Goose Festival. What an amazing experience it was!Hopefully I'll find the time sometime soon to write about the experience. But in the meantime, here are a few photos to give you a glimpse of the experience. The first two photos I took using my iPhone; the other two are courtesy of conference attendee Christine M. A Sneak Peek at our New Family Photos

Last night Rhiannon, Fran and I had family photos taken, our first formal photography since 2001. My, how things have changed! Back then you still had to go back to the studio at a later date to view proofs — but this time, as soon as the shoot was done, the photographer parked us in front of a computer where we could crop, zoom, and enhance our digital images to our heart's content. The photographer, Montoya Williams, was wonderful — she was patient with not only Rhiannon, but mom and dad as we … [Read more...]

He, meanwhile, is holding a promotional bookmark for The Big Book of Christian Mysticism. I wish I had an actual copy of the book to give him. … [Read more...]

Someone who WON’T be going to Northern Ireland in August…

Here is a little "friend" we discovered in the woods behind the Abbey Store at the monastery where I work.Needless to say, Saint Patrick is not in Georgia. This, of course, is a black snake, who helps to control the population of field mice throughout the largely wooded grounds of the monastery — so this slithery fellow is one of the good guys. But if snakes are not your thing, you can rest assured that this creature will not be joining us in Northern Ireland this summer! He (or she) will s … [Read more...]
