Soldier Returning from Afghanistan Meets Baby Daughter for First Time

Captain William Lotts was deployed to Afghanistan when his wife Brittany was 15 weeks pregnant. As a result, he missed the birth of his daughter Finley this past July.

Brittany prayed for her husband’s safe return, especially in light of the fact that he held the dangerous job of clearing improvised explosive devices (IEDs) from roads there.

That prayed-for reunion and father-daughter meeting finally happened, and ABC News’s “Good Morning America” was there to capture it all. The video offers a great reminder of the gratitude this country owes its veterans. Happy Veterans Day to all who have served.
