Father Jonathan Morris on How You Can Support the Work of The Christophers December 1, 2015

FrJonathan-1Since it’s Giving Tuesday, the day in which people are encouraged to make donations to their favorite charities, I’m posting this video by Father Jonathan Morris on the definition of stewardship and the work of The Christophers.

For instance, you may not know that Christopher literature gets sent to diocesan prison ministries free of charge – and it’s much appreciated. Deacon Peter Andre, director of Prison Ministry for the Diocese of St. Petersburg, wrote to thank us after we sent him several hundred copies of our latest “Three Minutes a Day” book, saying, “Your gifts continue to pour in like blessings from above!….One case [of books] will go to the women enrolled in The Red Tent program out of the Pinellas County Jail. This pre and post release program provides life skills, case management, trusted Catholic counseling, employment skills and other temporal services to help break the cycle of women in jail and prison. We have been utterly blown away by your support.”

TattianaRidleyIn addition, we also recently heard from Bettina Ridley, who shared photos with us from the “Soul Food Table” at Saint Francis Xavier soup kitchen in New York City. Her daughter Tatiana serves food to the homeless at the soup kitchen and is featured in the photo to the left handing out Christopher materials to those she serves. Bettina wrote, “I, along with all the guests, are so happy to have such wonderful, hopeful inspirations from Christopher News!”
