Ugh. I've got the cold from heck. Feels like my eyes are popping out of my head and someone is standing on my chest (maybe that's why the eyes are so poppy?).Though there will undoubtedly be a lack of posting on my part for a day or two (don't worry, the contests will still go on!), I would like to direct you to a few posts on other blogs.Jen from Chasing Domestic Bliss received her Hecate Doll from Dancing Goddess Dolls (who has a Samhain give-a-way going!).Ellie, from The Crazy Life posted … [Read more...]

Hello! It's Saturday and Mr. B. is working. Drat the elections! Every 4 years he is caught up in the election frenzy with the news. *sigh* At least he didn't have to work the convention this year (though last democratic convention he got some great swag -- like elephant shaped "Kraft Democratic Mac and Cheese!" hahaha!Anyhoo, the weekend is shaping up to be cold and husbandless. Tomorrow we are going to the in-laws for m-i-l's birthday. I guess today I'll be catching up on the … [Read more...]
Creepy Craft Collage
Another frugal decoration for Halloween! All you need is paper, your computer and printer, some inexpensive painted frames, and your imagination!Instead of going step by step, it's easier to just show you the end result:Just gather a few of your favorite Halloween/Samhain images, a few printed words and/or a Halloween poem and placed them in the frames. I like them sort of connected to form one big "frame", but you can display them in any way you like. I used the word "Poe", and "magic" … [Read more...]
Daily Update: October 17
It's Friday! Today is the day I officially take off from housekeeping, laundry and cleaning and do whatever I want. Some people would ask, isn't that what Saturday and Sunday are for? If you have 3 kids - heck no! There is feeding kids and running them to and fro and weekend homework and making sure clothes are clean for Monday for school, etc. etc. So I take Fridays off and do whatever the heck I want. Sometimes it amounts to sitting in the tub all day for an hour or two with my book. … [Read more...]

Good morning!I can't believe how far behind I am getting on all the things I wanted to do this month, lol! One of the biggest reasons is because I can't stop making pendants! I can't believe how fun they are to make. I'm thinking of making a bunch of Xmas ones and trying my hand at selling them at the big craft show that they have every year here in late November. At the price it costs to make them, I could sell them for a buck a piece and still make a pretty decent profit! I'm not sure the … [Read more...]
Samhain Notes…Sleep Protection Bags
Every year at Samhain time, on the closest full moon, I make sleep protection bags for each member of my family. These bags contain items for restful sleep, happy dreams and protection.I start by gathering all my supplies:Herbs (I will have a list of the herbs I use at the end.), any stones that I might be using, needle and thread, pre-made pouches or material to sew into pouches, and any items that you might need for blessing/cleansing your items or finished pouches.I like to use colorful … [Read more...]
