Well, yesterday I got a start on the canning and putting up food. I got 2 dozen ears of corn blanched, cut off the cob and packed into Food Saver bags for the freezer ( I got about 7 (2 cup) packages frozen). I will probably do this one more time before summer is over. It's a bit of work, but it'll be worth it when we are eating frozen corn this winter that actually tastes like corn! Hit the farm market yesterday and picked up a ton of stuff. Between that and the things ready in my garden, I'm going to be putting up a ton of food today! Yup, that's right! We've got a monarch caterpillar hanging out in our milkweed!! We planted these from free seeds from the Live Monarch site at the beginning of the summer. I didn't know if anything would come of it. We did get some really pretty plants, but not much else. But today, when I went out to water the garden, there he was! Hi everybody, back from the wedding! It was just fabulous!You could not have asked for a more gorgeous setting for a wedding. The groom owns a log cabin in the mountains, surrounded by woods and with a pond and creek running through it. It is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen!
