As you can see (though Blogger decided it needed to go up sideways – can’t figure that one out!), I am hard at work planning out the activities and give aways for the 31 Days of Halloween. So far I have 31 businesses and individuals giving away a total of 37 different items! So there will be at least one item given away every day, with some days having two! And I still have people responding, so there could be more. UPDATED TO ADD MORE BUSINESS- I’ve lost count now!
And just to throw this disclaimer in: I am not getting paid, in any way, by any of the businesses. Not that I would be objectionable to anyone who wanted to pay me to give their things away, mind you! For this event, however, I scoped out the most interesting, original, and quality products that I would want to buy for myself but can’t afford right now. The donors, in fact, will mail the items straight to the winners, as I could not trust myself to not take all the prizes, run to Mexico, and keep them all for myself. Seriously.
In other news school is looming on the horizon. My daughter can’t wait. The boys wish summer could last forever. There is a mad dash to finish math packets and summer reading projects (the books long since read at least) that we put off. I hate math. I’m not even kidding. So now we are in the flurry of school clothes and school supply purchasing. *sigh*
This weekend, we will be attending my sister-in-laws wedding. She is quite happily preggers and marrying a quite nice man. He has a steady job, his own home, all his hair and teeth. That’s really not to shabby, is it? She’s thrilled spitless, and I hope they will have a long and happy life together. Now that that’s been said, I am dreading the actual wedding like mad. I am not a people person. I can fake it with the best of them, but I don’t really enjoy big crowds or people that I don’t know. I don’t usually look forward to long events. It’s not made any better by the fact that my middle son is uncomfortable around people he doesn’t know and loud events. And my teenager is in the midst of trying to shun anything that involves anyone over 25.
Thankfully, the wedding will be outside and casual. The bride is encouraging the ladies to wear flip flops and sun dresses and the men to wear Hawaiian shirts (there’s a pig roast at the reception). There’s going to be music and dancing and I’m sure we’ll have scads of fun.
Of course, since today is pay day, I’m going to be out rushing to find my dress last minute, shoes for the kids, and get 3 of us hair cuts. In two days. Crap.
On a witchy front, things that I worked towards on Lamas are starting to manifest. Healthy family members; passionate, loving marriage…now I just have to get the prosperity working a bit harder, lol! That’s the one that always seems to lag behind…
I couldn’t believe when I took the dog out this morning, it was actually chilly. Autumn is waiting right on the wings to slip into place and bring us a step closer to winter. I was hoping summer would hang on a little later. The last two Halloweens, the kids didn’t even wear jackets to trick-or-treat. Of course all the ones before that, they were wearing winter coats… I am not a winter girl — it’s the Texas in me. I want to grab hold of summer with both hands and keep it here for as long as I can. Winter brings snow, cold, a stiff back and hip (remnants of surgeries), and lack of the outdoors and sunlight. (Though I have been promised retirement to a warm, sunny, winterless place.)
Hope you are all having a wonderful Thursday! Go out and check some of these places out! You’ll be wanting to win their donations, let me tell you! And not all are pagan-oriented, though most are Halloweeny!

Am I reading this right? You’re doing a give away for every day in October?! Holy moly that’s impressive. What a cool idea.I felt autumn sweep through my home yesterday too through the gauzy curtains. I put on socks for the first time in months. How I adore that time of year. Halloween/Samhain has been on my mind a ton!
Yep! Every day! And, this is some great stuff, let me tell you! I’m getting a huge thrill at the though of being able to hook my “invisible” friends up with this stuff. I’m just jealous that I can’t win any of it, lol!
cool…freebies!trust me..if you had been in any part of texas this year you would be weeping for a change of venue..mostly 100′s and little rain..although the past 3 days we have had some nice rain and even got 2 inches one day…
Yay on everything! My girls just went back to school yesterday and they are super excited to be there. I am hoping that they stay that way through to the end of the year LOL. And man are you a busy lady from the looks of that calendar AND the upcoming wedding. Enjoy it all!
This time of year has always brought me such great excitement. It’s like my internal clock just knows it’s time to hunker down and get ready for another 6 months of studying. Samhain /Halloween has always been one of my favourite holidays too. Who doesn’t love black cat and pumpkin decorations!?I hope the wedding isn’t too bad for you and the kids. I feel the same way. I have my own wedding that I SHOULD be planning.. but keep putting off for the same reasons! lol
Oh, I’m going to absolutely WALLOW in this list. Yay!!!I’m actually the opposite with the weather–I miss the colder weather of my hometown in Autumn and Winter. But I feel you on the wedding. Sounds like sil is doing everything she can to make folks comfy, though!
Hey Mrs. B, 31 days of Halloween! I can’t wait! It’s better than 12 Days of Christmas! I’ve always had a soft-spot for October–mostly because of Halloween obviously, and it’s my birth month. What a great way of celebrating every day!
I hopeyour wedding time is ok, B. I’m not exactly the wedding type either but here’s just one evening of it! I can’t remember when I last went to a wedding party, people tend to live together (like me) and that’s it!I used to be a Summer girl, but living in Rio with its growing hot weather each year, now I crave for some cold!I’ll start making the wooden box and the matchboxes for the Halloween carnival this week, so I can send you the photos when they’re ready! Ah, one question that highly interests me: will the giveaways be available to everyone or some will be only for U.S. residents? Hope not!!! Anyway, obvoiously mine are going to anyone in the world. Just let me know!Kisses!
