Wanted to share a bit more of my attempt at art journaling. I’m still at the point where I’m almost hesitant to do so. I have to remind myself that it is something I’m doing just for me, and that there isn’t any “right” way to do it. I’m half afraid that someone will yell at me for doing it badly, lol! Silly, as I’ve had nothing but support from all the “arty” blog friends I’ve made.
So anyway, here we go.
This is the cover of my journal that I am still working on. I want to fill in more of the space, and fix the mermaid’s tail and top. I had cut the tail out of this great sparkly silver paper, but it just doesn’t look how I wanted it when it was done. Still debating what I’ll do with it. I also want to do something with her top, perhaps paint over it. No where near being done, but I like where it’s going so far.
This is another page. I’m pretty happy where it is right now. Of course every time I see it, I think that the water that the turtle is coming out of looks more like a blue “Thinking Chair” than water, lol.
I’m not wildly crazy about this one. I think I rushed too much (the yellow lines on my little figure are from bad scanning – they aren’t on the real picture). I like the idea behind it, but not the actual page. Live and learn, I guess.
These two pages go together. They are by far my favorites so far. I really want to work on doing different types of backgrounds, and I’ve been watching some tutorials to learn more on that. On these two, I like the contrast and the simplicity, though.
I’ve also been working on some sketches, just to kind of get back in the drawing frame of mind. I’m working on getting them scanned, and when I do, I’ll share those, too.

They look beautiful!!! Keep it going, can’t wait to see how you evolve.
Your art journal pages are wonderful. Keep going with it. Sometimes it’s scary to show parts of our creativity to the world. Most of the time I find we always get such love and support from people.
I am loving all your pages! They look great Mrs. B! I hope you keep sharing. =)<3

Very creative and full of personality. I love them, keep it up!
Keep making these cool art pages, Kris, they look so beautiful and full of warm feelings in a fun mood. I want you to get out of the creativity closet! Believe that you have a lot to offer, it’s true.Kisses from Nydia.

I don’t care what you call them..I love them..especially the last one.
I think they are friggin’ fantastic! Omg, I wish I could come up with something half that good. I am envious! And pretty sure I’m going to stick with photography, LOL. One day I will be brave and do something like this, way to go Mrs. B!I love that you also feed the birds and that they wait for you! And agree that even if the prices are going up, baking and cooking from scratch is the way to go.
I adore those last two the most! Great work.
Ooooooooooooooh. I’m liking these a lot!!!!
Wonderful! You are having so much fun!
Thank you so much!! I was first inspired to start journaling by your black gesso’d pages! I love the one with the girl w/the striped stockings!
