Yesterday, Mr. B. got offered a new job. The job was one that would take him away from home for 4 months, and then let him be home for 2. Now as much as it would be nice to have all Mr. B., all day, for 2 months, gone 4 at a time? No freaking way.
I know that women (and men) do this all the time for various jobs (thank you for your service, military families!), but that’s one of the reasons that the hubs got out of the military! Not only do we almost always enjoy each other’s company, we have three kids. I can’t imagine how the kids would react to not seeing their father for 4 months at a time. And, quite frankly, if I were to spend 4 months at a time with my kids, without a break – without another adult to speak with on a regular basis!- I would loose my freaking mind. I love my kids, but parenting is not always a walk in the park. I don’t want to be a single parent while I’m married.
So once again, in a matter of days, my family was offered something that would change out lives, and once again, we had to make a choice on what to do. And once again, we said no.
It got me to thinking, though. What’s going on there? Is the universe trying to tell us something? Do we need a change in our lives? Are we missing out on opportunities by turning them down? Or are we being shown a reminder of how important our family is to us?
Things usually come in threes, don’t they? I wonder what’s up next?
Meanwhile, I got something that I purchased in the mail yesterday. I don’t mean to be mysterious, but I love it so much, I sought out the distributor and wrote a letter asking if they might like to work with my blog in a little publicity giveaway. I thought, what the hey! Worth asking. I was thrilled spitless when they wrote back and said, sure! Not going to give away what it was yet, but it’s a little something that I think you’ll really like! Details coming in the next week or so. It really doesn’t ever hurt to ask. Rule to live by!
And here’s a little something I had to share. I found it on another blog, while I was blog hopping around. Sorry to say, I cannot, for the life of me, remember which blog I saw it on, sorry! If you go to my profile and look at the number of blogs I follow, you’ll see why, lol! It was too great not to share, though!
UPDATED TO ADD THIS:
Rarely do I really toot the horn of another blogger, but today I must toot. You have to watch this video, and then visit the blog about the subject of the video here. Please to enjoy!

The video was wonderful! And, messages from the universe aside, I think the decisions you've made recently about family set up are right, or at least the same decisions I would have come to.
It will be interesting to see what the 3rd will be.
I agree with you rbaout the universe trying to tell you something. I agree with you about turning it down. That would be rough on any family. Something like that would be a true test in any marriage!
That video is great!I'm curious to see what the universe will throw your way next, especially as a follow up to long periods away from home and Wife Swap.
Mrs B, methinks you are being tested, eh?
It definitely seems like you're being tested here. Maybe the 3rd thing will be something you'll actually want to say yes to? That is the sweetest video ever! Of course science will never be able to understand what makes a mother mother. It's just what they do.
I predict that the third thing will be something that you really want, but which would have been impossible had you said yes to the Wife Swap and/or new job offers.
I love that cat and dog story. I have seen it before but I can but help say AWWW when I see it again. I am thinking your third option is going to be the one to consider. Dad gone 4 months is not OK!!! Or rather, the last, last, last option I would ever think about.
Hmmmm, the universe is really trying to tell you something, you may just be up for a big change, hopefully it doesn't take anyone too far away from home. You're right tho, things always come in threes, and when it rains, it pours! lolI can't wait to see what your next giveaway is! Im excited already!
Oh that video was SO cute!! I had a dog once who mothered little ducklings that hatched, and their mother was killed on the road. He swam with them, and guarded them at night. so cute!
What an adorable Mommy Animal movie… I love it!I just saw Pride and Prejudice and Zombies Friday.. I'm thinking about picking up a copy next.
