Monday This and That’s

First off, The Apron Goddess has an awesome 4th of July inspired apron giveaway going on right now!  Visit TAG to get the details!!

Not much going on my way right now.  Trying to struggle through the last few weeks of school, dealing with the same BS from Mr. J’s school, and dealing with kids with gigantic cases of “spring fever”.  It doesn’t help that everyone on earth beside NJ seems to already be out of school and enjoying the summer vacation!  And school for us starts up Sept. 1 for the next school year!  Seems like a super short vacation this year.  What’s up with that?
Anyhoo.  Had a great weekend for the most part.  Nice weather, cooking out, sangria.  We had a little misunderstanding with a relative that left Mr. J a little down in the dumps, but the hubster found a way to fix it (he’s pretty good that way, that Mr. B.!).  I was a bit ticked off at the relative, but it wasn’t done maliciously, so how can you stay too mad?  (Okay, okay, I’m working on not being mad.  Sheesh!  Do you have to call me out on everything?)
My oldest is going away for the weekend with friends.  This is his first trip with friends.  Now, Oldest is an old man in a 17 year old’s body.  I have no fear that he will do the right things, will not succumb to peer pressure, etc.  And he hangs around with good kids.   If he thought anyone was going to be doing anything stupid, he just wouldn’t go.  He’s the one kid that I know I don’t have to worry about.  So how come I’m so worried about him going for 2 nights?

Oh that is so sweet! Before you have children you say this is not going to happen to me. I can't wait to be a mom!(actually i can, for a while, like a couple of years or so!)Do not worry Mrs B. Everything is going to be ok. Be blessed and calm!

spring fever is so hard especially when you're in one of the last schools to get out for the summer. … enjoy your week!

  3. "So how come I'm so worried about him going for 2 nights?"Because you're a mom – it's part of the job description :)

I think there would be something wrong if you weren't worried! I fully expect my mom to act all 'mom-ish' and worry and fret about things like that. I'll be annoyed with it, but I expect it. That's just what moms do. As for school not being out for you yet- it's the same here! It feels like everyone around me is getting out wicked soon, and I don't graduate until the 20th. The rest of the school doesn't get out until the 23rd.

If you are worried about your good son who is really man-like, HOW THE HECK am I ever going to sleep at night when my now 4 year old who is insane gets to 17. All afternoon I kept thinking "how am I going to get this kid grown up???" I am hoping some years make a difference but somehow I am not optimistic. Grrrrr.
