Making Magic on Monday

Most Pagans at least consider the phase of the moon when starting their magical works, but how about using the days of the week to give it an even stronger boost?  Each day of the week has specific correspondences and associations that can be worked with.  Though your work can be done at any time, taking note of the moon phases and the day of the week (even the time of day, but we'll get to that another day) can strengthen the power of your work, sharpening your intent into a finer … [Read more...]

Bringing Magic Into Your Thanksgiving Dinner

Candle Colors for Magical Purposes

If you've read this blog for a bit, you know how I love a simple candle spell.  Sure, you can do any type of work with only your intent, but for those of us who still prefer or need a bit of help with focusing our concentration (amid the chaos of everyday life, lol!), a candle is the perfect tool - inexpensive, easily stored, easy to use. I absolutely love thyme! I add it to so many recipes, to add a little zing. We have one more thyme plant in the ground, which we will be using to layer in a mason jar with honey to use in the winter for phlegmy coughs. Thyme has been … [Read more...]

Kitchen Deities

Every day when I cook, I light a candle to Hestia, who I've chosen to be my kitchen deity. I say a prayer and leave a small bit of food as an offering when I'm finished cooking. It's a very satisfying and simple ritual. There are tons of deities that can be considered "kitchen" or "hearth" deities. Many more still "fire" deities that could fit the bill as well. I thought I'd share a list of deities that I've been collecting of kitchen witchy deities and any foods/herbs that are … [Read more...]
